Meet the New Generation of Galápagos Sea Lions! 🦭

Say hello to one of the most playful and beloved animals in the archipelago: the Galápagos sea lion! 🌊🐾

Next time you spot these curious pups during your cruise, remember these fun facts:

• Their closest cousin is the California sea lion 🦭
• They’re found all across the archipelago 🌴
• Moms nurse their pups for up to 3 years — talk about dedication! ❤
• Each pup can recognize their mom’s call among hundreds 📣
• Playtime at the shore helps them learn to swim and face the ocean 🏖🌊

Get ready to fall in love with these adorable swimmers!

🔥 Then & Now: Tagus Cove, Galápagos 🌋

🕰 Then: Millions of years ago, there was no cove—just eruptions.
Volcanoes rose from the ocean floor, lava flowed, craters collapsed.
The sea shaped this rugged coastline, little by little.
No pirates. No names carved in rock. Just fire, water, and time.

🌀 Imagine this: a raw, untamed island, still forming—
like the image you see here.

👣 Now: You stand where Darwin once stood.
You hike past century-old graffiti and gaze down at Darwin Lake, a saltwater crater tucked inside the island’s wild heart.

🚢 Tagus Cove is one of our stops on your Galápagos cruise.
From molten origins to meaningful footsteps—
you walk through millions of years in minutes.

✨ Past. Present. All in one view.

Small birds. Big impact. 🐦💡

Aboard Golondrina Yacht, you’ll spot some of the tiniest game-changers in science: Darwin’s finches. 🌿✨

🧠 14 species.
🌍 One archipelago.
🔬 A revolution in how we see life.

Back in England, Darwin looked at their beaks and saw something massive: evolution in action. 🧬💥

📸 First pic: Large Ground Finch — seed-crusher extraordinaire. 🌰💪
📸 Second: Small Ground Finch — pest-control pro that helps reptiles stay fresh. 🦎🧼

Each beak tells a tale millions of years old. 🕰

🚨 Newcomer with flair! 🚨

🎨Prionotus pictus — the Painted Searobin
Not your everyday fish.

🟦Blue edges, bold stripes, paint-splatter spots.
Spiky head? Absolutely.

🌊Found near Isabela, Fernandina, and other Galápagos snorkeling sites.

🆕Officially described in June 2025 —
a vibrant, endemic jewel of the archipelago.

Did you know there’s a duck in Galápagos that handles saltwater like a pro? 🦆🌊

Meet the White-cheeked Pintail — sleek island specialist with bright white cheeks and a splash of red on the bill. 🎨🔥

Forget freshwater! This beauty thrives in salty lagoons and brackish pools, cruising through Las Bachas and Puerto Egas — both part of your journey aboard Golondrina. 🏝🚢

It’s evolution in action — filtering salt, staying cool, and blending in with the volcanic landscape. 🌋
Found nowhere else on Earth. Only in Galápagos. 🌍✨

Did you know you can meet a penguin in the tropics on your Galápagos cruise? 🐧☀🌴

The Galápagos Penguin is one cool customer—literally the only penguin that lives north of the equator! 🧭🌎

Tiny but mighty, they stand just 35 cm tall 📏 and dive up to 50 meters deep to hunt their fishy snacks. 🐟💦

They’ve mastered island life—nesting in lava cracks, escaping the heat, and thriving where no other penguin dares to waddle. 🔥🌋

Spot them at Punta Espinosa, Tagus Cove, Chinese Hat, and Cormorant Point—all part of our adventure-packed itineraries. 🚢📍

Adorable? Absolutely. Endemic? You bet. Only in Galápagos. 🌍✨

Did you know you’ll meet the world’s only ocean-swimming iguana on your Galápagos cruise?
🌊🦎

Marine iguanas dive into chilly waters to munch on algae — like underwater lawnmowers! 🌿💦

Clumsy on land but graceful and fast in the sea, just like Darwin described.

Cold-blooded? That’s a challenge in cold water. After feeding, they rush back to shore and bask on lava rocks — soaking up the sun like living batteries. ☀🪨⚡

Darwin even tossed one into the ocean just to see how fast it would swim back for warmth. (Spoiler: it zoomed.)

Only in Galápagos. You won’t find these sea dragons anywhere else on Earth. 🐉🌍

A win for wildlife. A win for humanity. 🌍✨

In the heart of the Galápagos, two of the world’s rarest birds are making a comeback—and you could witness it aboard Golondrina Yacht. 🚢💚

❤‍🔥 The Vermilion Flycatcher just had a baby boom: 39 chicks in 2025 with a 75% success rate.
🖤 The Mangrove Finch—with only 60 left on Earth—is showing real signs of recovery.

This isn’t just a Galápagos story. It’s a global one.
Every tiny wingbeat is proof: when we care, nature responds. 🌱🐣

Hope is alive. And it flies. 🕊
Join us to see it up close.

Meet the Blue-Footed B***y!

One of the most iconic — and entertaining — birds you’ll spot during your Galápagos cruise aboard Golondrina! 🛥🩵

These striking seabirds are famous for their hilarious courtship dance 🕺, where they lift their bright blue feet one at a time like clowns in oversized shoes — all while “skypointing” with their tails and beaks! ☁👆

Fun facts:

Females are slightly larger, with darker blue feet and bigger pupils ♀🔵
They lay up to 3 eggs, incubated by both parents for 42 days 🥚🥚🥚⏳
You can spot them during your cruise at Punta Pitt (San Cristóbal), North Seymour, and Punta Suárez (Española) — all visited by our yacht! 📍🗺

Next time you see those unforgettable feet... you’ll know exactly what they’re up to!

Charles Darwin was right: it began with fire… and became legend.

🌋 El León Dormido, once the fiery heart of a volcano, now stands as a stone sentinel shaped by time and tide.

🌊 We asked AI to reimagine its primeval form—and the result is breathtaking.
Today, the Sleeping Lion rises from the sea, a Galápagos icon—while Yacht Golondrina sails by its side.

🚤 Come witness the story carved in stone.

Meet the Swallow-Tailed Gull – a Galápagos standout!

Easily recognized by the vivid scarlet ring around its eyes, this striking seabird is a must-see during your Galápagos cruise.

Next time you spot one, remember these fascinating facts:

It’s the only gull in the world that feeds at night 🌙, flying 15–30 km offshore in search of squid and fish.

Its bright red gape and tongue 👅 are believed to help with courtship and scaring off predators.

During the non-breeding season, it migrates to the coastal waters of Ecuador and Peru.

You’re most likely to see it on Genovesa, South Plaza, and Española — all featured in our diverse itineraries 🚤.

Meet the American Flamingo 🦩 — one of the most striking bird species you can spot in the Galápagos!
Next time you see one during your cruise aboard the Golondrina ⛵, keep these fun facts in mind:

• Their plumage color changes depending on how many carotenoids they consume 🦀
• They feed with their beaks upside down, using them like filters! 🔄
• Nests are built in salty coastal lagoons 🌊
• They stand tall at 130–145 cm — pure elegance! ✨
