Happy 💧
A day to remember how important this element is in all aspects of life 🦋 and it is essential to avoid the waste of it because even though the Island are surrounded by oceanic water, the resources of freshwater are limited in here, that’s why the conservation of it is one of the most difficult challenges to face in Galapagos.
¡Let’s protect the oceans and save water!🚰🌊

Did you know the Vampire Finch? 🩸

The sharp-billed ground finch, also known as the “vampire finch” is one of Darwin's finches, measuring between 10-12 cm in length and living up to 20 years.

They use their extremely sharp beak to collect seeds, nectar and insects. However, when the environment becomes dry, they fly to the back of a resting Nazca gannet and peck at the base of the wing to drink its blood which stains the gannet's white plumage and other finches congregate around to wait their turn or to watch and learn.

You can only find this finch in Darwin and wolf Islands, two of the most remote and restricted places in the whole archipelago.🏝️
