Our adventurous visitors are a French family of 5 who have been volunteering in beach cleaning acitivities as well as cutting invasive plants from our volunteer property in San Christobal.

Gaby is the healer of a magical place located in Puyo, through which several of our passengers have passed. In this video Gaby tells us how her dreams coincided with those of her family; and what motivated them to create a beautiful Amazonian paradise together. We invite you to take a walk through the forests of Los Yapas (for now, virtually) and learn about Gaby's inspiring philosophy.

Good news for tourism in Ecuador!

This past weekend we woke up with excellent news for the Ecuadorian tourism sector. On the night of Friday, August 14th, national organizations announced changes in the protocols and requirements for entering the country.

International tourists who arrive in Ecuador by air and have a negative RT-PCR test taken in the last ten days prior to the trip, will no longer have to comply with the mandatory preventive isolation upon arrival in the country.

A key factor in this decision are the sanitary measures implemented in international airports that have proven their effectiveness. Furthermore, this decision promotes the recovery of air transport and tourism in Ecuador, the country of the four worlds. In Galapagos, presenting the test with a negative result taken maximum 96 hours prior to arrival to the islands, is a requirement for admission.

Colourful Ecuador Travels has a COVID and travel designers Team, who are constantly preparing and updating biosafety protocols in order to keep you safe and assuring to excite you with WOW experiences during your adventures in the country!

The Galapagos Islands are ready to welcome tourists back again and the sea lions are anxiously waiting to playfully swim around you in the crystal blue waters of the islands!

Here are some interesting facts about sea lions:

• They’re very social. Sea lions communicate in a variety of ways, although scientists are still somewhat baffled as to what their sounds mean. They travel in large colonies, which have subgroups. Sea lions will even move from subgroup to subgroup during their lifetimes – so in a way, they’re kind of like cliques.

• They can have age-related health issues. When they grow older, sea lions become prone to pneumonia, epilepsy, and cancer.

• The Northern Atlantic Ocean is off-limits – You can find sea lions in bodies of water throughout the world – except for the Northern Atlantic Ocean. This is strange since its temperatures are certainly compatible with where sea lions typically live, and there’s plenty of food there. Scientists have no idea why sea lions refuse to live in this area.

• The bigger, the better – Male sea lions grow to be pretty big – much larger than females. The females look for the largest males to mate with, so in this case, yes, bigger is better.

• There are many species of sea lions – There are actually seven different species even though they all often seem to be bundled into the same category. Sea lions belong to a group of animals called “pinnipeds.”
