Yellow Fever Vaccination Required for Entry into Ecuador from May 12, 2025
Dear Passengers,
Please be advised that, effective May 12, 2025, the Government of Ecuador will require an International Certificate of Yellow Fever Vaccination for certain travelers entering the country, as part of efforts to prevent the spread of the Yellow Fever virus and in accordance with the International Health Regulations (IHR 2005).
This requirement applies to:
- Travelers who are nationals or residents of Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, or Brazil.
- Travelers of any nationality who have stayed or transited for more than 10 days in any of these countries prior to entering Ecuador.
🔹 The certificate must show that the vaccine was administered at least 10 days prior to travel.
🔹 The yellow fever vaccine provides lifetime immunity.
Additionally:
Ecuadorian nationals and residents traveling to risk areas in the Ecuadorian Amazon (Sucumbíos, Orellana, Napo, Pastaza, Morona Santiago, and Zamora Chinchipe) without prior vaccination are required to be vaccinated at least 10 days before entering those zones.
