We are back from WTM Latin America 2026 in São Paulo, and we are leaving these days with a lot of energy and great conversations.

Ecuador has been named Destination of the Year for Adventure Tourism at ITB Berlin 2026, one of the most influential events in the global travel industry. The recognition was granted by the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA).

For adventure travelers, Ecuador offers something quite unique. Within a relatively small country, journeys can quickly shift from high mountain landscapes to dense rainforest, powerful rivers or the wildlife environments of the Galápagos, creating endless opportunities for outdoor exploration.

An important update from the Galápagos this week. For the first time in more than a century, giant tortoises have returned to Floreana Island as part of a long-term ecological restoration process.

On Floreana, tortoises contribute to the natural regeneration of the island by dispersing seeds and moving through areas that have slowly been recovering over time. Their return follows years of scientific research and habitat management designed to restore ecological balance.

The Galápagos are often described for their wildlife and landscapes, but what truly defines them is the continuous work behind their protection. Through our programs at Geo Boutique Travel Designer, travelers can explore these islands with a clearer understanding of the long-term efforts that sustain them.
