L𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗟’𝗦 𝗖𝗔𝗨𝗟𝗗𝗥𝗢𝗡 🌊⁣

This was one of my favorite places I visited in Ecuador, A beautiful mix between nature and man made structures. The Devils cauldron is located in the province of Baños. The structure took the locals 14 years to build and it gives visitors an unreal perspective to the massive 260 ft waterfall. Another place to add to your South America bucketlist, But if you decide to explore it, get ready to get wet! Swipe for a crazy POV perspective 😍⁣

It has been a challenging few days here at the office and across the travel industry in general, with overnight travel restrictions being put in place throughout Latin America and the wider world. We have been working to assist our travelling clients by making alternative arrangements to ensure they can get home safely, and liaising with those who were due to depart in the coming days.

Through this uncertain time, we want to support the many small boutique hotels and remote lodges we work with, who may struggle to bounce back from the COVID-19 crisis as they rely on tourism to survive. We are therefore encouraging travellers to postpone their trips, rather than cancel to .

“My friends and I were chasing sunrise at the Cotopaxi National Park in Ecuador when this scene stopped us dead in our tracks. Just as we were about to enter the park, we noticed that the morning light was shining on the area's namesake volcano with a practically surreal glow. There was an unspoken and immediate understanding between us that this was the perfect spot to capture it, one of the most impressive mountains I've ever seen being illuminated in absolutely ideal light. Standing beneath Ecuador’s most famous volcanoes, we all felt humbled and amazed by the biodiversity of this country." 🎥📍Cotopaxi, Ecuador 🇪🇨

Today is International Women’s Day!

Did you know that while women represent 39% of workers worldwide, they make up 54% of the tourism workforce?

A 2019 report from found that this sector offers greater opportunities for female entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, and education and training than the broader economy.

According to the UNWTO, the gender pay gap is also narrower in the tourism economy. Women in tourism earn an average of 14.7% less than their male counterparts, compared to 16.8% in the broader economy.

While these numbers are far from perfect, they demonstrate tourism’s potential to aid in the empowerment of female workers. With further investment in training and education, along with specific gender-equality strategies and policies, the tourism industry can help lead the way in enhancing female empowerment and advancing gender equality worldwide.
