River People is owned and run by a river-loving family who moved to Ecuador from Ireland over 20 years ago. They have some of the most experienced guides in the country and are fluent in Spanish and English. River People also runs the largest number of rivers in the Tena area. Our family moved to Ecuador in 1993 and fell in love with the rivers around Tena. In 2002, after working for the only raft company in the area (which had just been sold) we started River People. We’ve run every river in the immediate area and many others throughout Ecuador.

From sharing headlamp-lit stories at camp to helping little explorers conquer their first rapids, one guest’s trip became the perfect multigenerational adventure.
