Have you ever passed this monument and wondered about the story behind it?
This is the Tondi Boys Statue — a monument to the cadets who lost their lives during the coup attempt in Estonia. Originally unveiled in 1928 and created by the acclaimed sculptor Amandus Adamson, it stood in Tondi (Tondi tänav 55/57) as a symbol of courage and sacrifice.
In 1941, the Soviets destroyed it. But history wasn’t erased.
On Tallinn Day, 15 May 2009, it was rebuilt by sculptor Jaak Soans, restoring a powerful part of Estonia’s memory.
A quiet monument with a voice of its own—telling a story of resilience through time.
