New in program:
Best Western Estonia
10 h excursion comprises most interesting places on western direction outside of the Tallinn. We start our day with 30 minutes drive to the Keila Joa Schloss Fall. Nicely renovated manor housed the prominent noble family. Old greenhouses for winegrapes are still visible. Official anthem of Russian Tsarist Empire was first time performed here during the house-party. Beautiful riverbank with the old hydro powerplant is sightseeing point itself.
We continue our tour to the ruins of oldest monastery in Estonia. Already during the 13. Century Franciscan friars established the monastery witch was famous about the brewery. Ruins are still impressive containing so many layers of the different times. The ruins are quiet and almost forgotten outside the mainstream touristic routes.
Our next stop is small and cozy resort town Haapsalu. The main point of the interest is the bid medieval Bishop-Castle, but the promenade and streets full on 19. Century wooden architecture should not be missed. The town was one of the favourite resort destination of Russian nobility during 19. C.
Price of the privat tour (max 3 pax): 160 EUR per person. Lunch is not included.

City wall. The time-recorder.

Tallinn ancient city wall is one of the best preserved city walls in Europe. Every stone, every corner, every tower has it`s own story. This wall can talk about the time of the knights, long period of multinational merchant city, hard times of the occupations and the born of the new Tallinn – outside of the old walls.
We start our tour from the port side cannon tower Fat Margaret. We walk along the quiet old remote streets admiring massive defensive towers. Every of them has it`s own face and story to tell. We see how the city break out from the walls on 18. Century. We`ll walk on the wall on the steps of the knights, see the famous Dome Hill from the undiscovered side. Discover the legendary houses witch still hide the parts of the old wall inside interior. We talk about the past and present and about the persons who used to live inside the old towers.
Tours contains the most important “must see” objects but rest of it will be discovery of the streets and courtyards away from the mainstream crowd.
During the 4 h tour we have coffee-break in nice courtyard of the famous haunting house housing the art and pottery gallery nowadays.
Highlights: cannon tower Fat Margaret, walking ON THE WALL, backyard of the Estonian Parliament haunting part of the wall, interesting facts from the past and present.
During the tour we paint you the BIG PICTURE of one city.

Estonian peasants and nobles: contrasts of the colony (6h)

The tours begins with the short (15 min) drive from the port or your hotel to the picturesque shoreline of Tallinn. In the middle of the suburbian park-forest we introduce you to Estonian national traditions of simple country-life. Couple of hundred years old barnhouses, barnyards, warehouses, mills and saunas will give you the picture about the Estonian peasant-culture in the past.
The same time when the natives used to live in simplicity, the colonial rulers used to live in palaces of Tallinn upper-town. During the second half of the tour you can get nice panorama-pictures of Tallinn from the ancient castle-hill Toompea, see the medieval architecture, churches and the house of the parliament. In the end of the tour we`ll walk through the medieval lower-town full of old merchant houses and stories from the past and present.
Coffee break and entrances to the open air museum and Dome Church included.
