🇮🇹🇪🇪 On June 17th, the Italian Parliamentary Commission for Simplification and Digitalization visited TalTech in Estonia as part of its investigation into streamlining administrative procedures.
The delegation met with Dr. Assoc. Prof. Ingrid Pappel, head of the Next Generation Digital State research group, to discuss Estonia’s digital governance model, the role of AI in modernizing the public sector, and innovations like Bürokratt—Estonia’s AI-powered virtual public servant.

🚀 Exciting News! Yesterday marked the official opening of our eID Competence Centre! 🎉

The Next Generation Digital State research group with Dr. Silvia Lips and board of scientific directors Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Ingrid Pappel and Prof. Dr. Dirk Draheim kicked off this incredible journey with a dedicated EU Digital Wallet workshop, bringing together experts, enthusiasts, and stakeholders. Our discussions were insightful, focusing on the transformative benefits of the EU Digital Wallet, as well as the challenges we must overcome to make it a reality.

A huge thanks to Prof. Dr. Nitesh Bharosa for introducing the role of the European Wallet and it's shaping the future. Also many thanks to panelists Prof. Dr. Nitesh Bharosa, Dr. Aivo Kalu, Mr. Kalev Pihl, Mrs. Anna Mõtlik, and the moderator Mrs. Anna Õuekallas for the discussion “EU Digital Wallet: Overcoming Challenges to Achieve Seamless Integration”. ↗️Liigume aina enam sisukama andmemajanduse poole. Andmed on tulnud selleks, et jääda! 📈

Meie TalTechi Next Gen Digital State uurimisrühma liikmed Jaanus Riibe; Pirjo-Andra Põõsaste ja Kersti Kuusalu osalesid hiljuti Justiits- ja Digiministeerium Infopäeval 2025, et koguda värskeid teadmisi ja inspiratsiooni uue magistriõppekava➡️ Digiriigi andmed ja tehnoloogiad edasiarendamiseks.

Infopäev tõi kokku digiriigi arendajad ja andmepoliitika kujundajad, pakkudes sisuka ülevaate sellest, kuhu Eesti suundub oma andmepõhise ja inimkeskse digiriigi visiooniga. Esinejad, sealhulgas Justiits- ja Digiministeeriumi, Majandus- ja Kommunikatsiooniministeerium, Arenguseire Keskus ning TalTech - Tallinna Tehnikaülikool eksperdid, käsitlesid selliseid teemasid nagu inimese digitaalne kaksik, andmenõusolekuteenused, isiklik andmeruum, ning andmepõhised innovatsioonivõimalused aastani 2040.

Antud arutelud haakuvad mitmeti meie õppekava fookusega: kuidas digiriigis andmeid koguda, hallata, kasutada ja kaitsta, et pakkuda avalikkusele väärtust ning tugevdada usaldust riigi ja tehnoloogiate vastu. Samuti näitas päev selgelt, kui oluline roll on inimkesksetel lahendustel ja andmete teadlikul kasutamisel avalike teenuste disainis.

💭Infopäev andis väärtuslikku mõtteainet ja praktilisi teadmisi, kuidas siduda tulevikutrendid õppeprotsessiga ning teha oma õppekavast veelgi sisukam, ajakohasem ja töömaailmale vastavam programm.

📣Kui sind kõnetab samuti andmete ja tehnoloogia roll digiriigi arengus, siis oled väga oodatud õppima meie uuele magistriõppekavale!
