The winter season marks the start of the waterbird winter count and Sobek Bird Camp activities.
For the fifth consecutive year, we are grateful to OSME for their generous support of the Waterbird Identification and Survey Techniques Training.
This year’s camp focused on advanced bird identification and survey techniques, and provided participants with the opportunity to join the Lake Nasser Winter Count, organized by Nature Conservation Egypt (NCE).
The field activities resulted in several exciting observations, including flocks of Greater Flamingo and White Pelican, Bittern, the increase of African Reed Cormorant population, and the Village Weaver, highlighting the importance of Lake Nasser as a key wetland for waterbirds.
