Visa-free destinations for Nigerians 🇳🇬

21/10/2025

1️⃣ Forgetting to get your Visa on Arrival approval in advance.
Nigerians need pre-approval — don’t show up at Cairo Airport without it or you’ll be sent back! ✈️

2️⃣ Not budgeting for Egyptian pounds (EGP).
Many places don’t take dollars or naira — exchange your money early at the airport.

3️⃣ Not buying a SIM card at the airport.
Many Nigerians rely on Wi-Fi only and get stranded when they can’t use Google Maps or contact their hotel. A local SIM saves you time and stress.

4️⃣ Not preparing small cash for daily spending.
Most local shops, taxis, and cafes in Egypt don’t accept cards — and they might not have change for big notes either. Always keep small Egyptian pounds with you.

Things Tourists Always Forget When Visiting Egypt 🇪🇬
1️⃣ Friday is the weekend here. Many shops open late in the morning, and streets feel calmer.
2️⃣ Tipping is part of the culture. It’s polite to tip waiters, porters, or anyone who helps — even a few pounds is appreciated.
3️⃣ Toilets often charge a small fee. Keep coins (1–5 EGP) for public restrooms.
4️⃣ Crossing the street is an art. Just walk confidently — cars will flow around you (you’ll get used to it fast 😅).
5️⃣ Wi-Fi can be slow. Get a local SIM card — Vodafone and Orange are the most reliable.
6️⃣ Tea is everywhere! Egyptians drink it all day — try it with mint after your meals.
7️⃣ Don’t drink tap water. Always buy bottled water, even for brushing your teeth.
8️⃣ Locals are super friendly. Don’t be shy to ask for help — Egyptians love talking to visitors.
