The Citadel of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, Cairo, is one of Cairo's landmarks of historical value, which attests to its strength and immunity, and is considered one of the most beautiful architectural models. Which was inaugurated in 1176. It was built to be a center for the defense of the city, while Saladin was the one who built it. The castle is characterized by various exhibits that you will find in the castle museum, as it includes ceramic artifacts, old coins and artifacts. This castle is a storehouse of weapons, where you will find a number of different weapons, such as guns, some cannons, swords, daggers, shields, and spears. You can visit the mosques inside the castle, including the impressive Mosque of Muhammad Ali and the Mosque of Al-Nasr Muhammad Ibn Qalawun. Saladin Citadel is surrounded by a beautiful garden that you can wander around, and there you will find places to sit to rest on, some fountains, as well as some wonderful sculptures.
You cannot visit Egypt without visiting the Citadel.
