Young and old, they came to the furthest point in southern Egypt - the Temple of Ramses II in Abu Simbel - to witness the unique engineering, architectural and astronomical marvel, to witness the solar alignment on the face of King Ramses II.
As soon as the sun rises and appears on the horizon, it sends its warm rays more than 200 meters inside the Abu Simbel Temple, heading without hesitation to the face of King Ramses II at the final point in the temple, the sanctuary, to greet the king and congratulate him twice a year for more than 3,200 years.
Things are not easy and not ordinary, but rather an exceptional and majestic event that leaves everyone standing in awe. Our ancient ancestors thought...
