🌞🐾 Heat Wave Alert: Keep Your Pets Safe This Summer! 🐾🌞
Just like us, our furry friends can suffer from heat exhaustion and heatstroke during extreme temperatures. Knowing the warning signs can save a life!
🚨 Signs of Heatstroke in Pets:
• Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
• Drooling more than usual
• Weakness or lethargy
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Bright red gums or tongue
• Confusion, staggering, or collapse
💧 What Should You Do?
✅ Move your pet to a cool, shaded area immediately
✅ Offer fresh, cool water (don’t force them to drink)
✅ Use cool (not ice-cold) water on their paws, belly, and body
✅ Turn on a fan or air conditioning if available
✅ Contact your veterinarian as soon as possible
⚠️ Emergency Warning Signs
If your pet is collapsing, unconscious, having seizures, or struggling to breathe, seek veterinary care immediately. Heatstroke is a medical emergency and can become life-threatening very quickly.
❤️ Prevention is always better than treatment:
🐶 Walk dogs during early mornings or evenings
🐱 Ensure constant access to fresh water
🌳 Provide shade when outdoors
🚗 Never leave a pet inside a parked car, even for a few minutes
If you notice any of these symptoms, don’t wait—contact International Vet Hospital right away.
Stay safe, stay cool, and give your pets an extra bowl of water today! 🐾💙
