Back ground:
Embracing a mission of connecting the world of applied geophysics, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) is a not-for-profit organization Founded in 1930.

- SEG provides information, tools, and resources vital to:
-Advancing the science of exploration geophysics.
-Supporting humanitarian efforts
-Accelerating geophysical innovation. Membership:
SE

G is supporting 27,000 members from 128 countries. SEG AU has been launched in Al-Azhar University since 2009, for developing the skills of students in geoscience and prepare them for their future career through various chapter activities such as workshops, field trips, competition, conference, and courses. SEG AU as a non-profit organization, it plans, organizes, and holds a lot of events, most of them are totally free of charge aim to link the Academic life to the Practical life and allow the students to know what is going in real life work environment.
