Zalaga Camel Race!🐪⛺
An authentic Bedouin tradition that happens once a year only in Egypt's, Sinai desert between the two biggest Bedouin tribes, Elmozzina and Eltarrabin.
Over 40 child riders and their camels thunder through Wadi Zalaga, creating a breathtaking scene of dust and speed. More than a hundred cars follow the 30-kilometer race as closely as possible, drawn to the excitement and tradition witness the race till the fastest camel rider crosses the finish line, and the race is over. Bedouins start celebrating, cheering loudly, hugging one another and chanting loudly, praising the winner
🕘 Day 1 ( Jan 9th)
*08:30 AM* – Breakfast at the hostel. Meet at the hostel for breakfast and leave at 9:00
01:30 PM – Rest. Going to the Bedouin market before heading to the camp.
04:00 PM _ Lunch.
07:30 PM – Bonfire. Gather together by the fire, enjoy the stars and desert calm. then sleeping early for a 5 a.m. firegun wake-up call.
07:00 AM – Race starts. Drive 27km between two Bedouin tribes, (Muzeina and Taraban), and catch the race.
08:30 AM – Start celebrating. Reach the finish line, and celebrate the winner tribe.
01:00 PM - Lunch & Then Moving Back To Dahab.
