PADI OPEN WATER COURSE, 3 - 4 days :
The PADI Open Water course is a 3 - 4 day course (mostly we complete on the 3rd day and is what we aim to achieve,
however as the course is performance based we do need to allow some level of flexibility incase you may need more
time on certain skills). The course includes: Knowledge development covering the fundamentals of scuba diving including
dive equipment and techniques, studying from the PADI Open Water Diver manual and DVD (5 chapters of DVD and
Manual), 5 confined in water skills dives and 4 open water dives (2 x 12 meters + 2 x 18 meters). If you have an
appetite for excitement and adventure, odds are you can become an avid PADI diver. You’ll also want to be aware of
these requirements before signing up with us:
1. Waterskills
You will demonstrate basic waterskill comfort by swimming 200 yards/metres. There is no time limit for this, and you
may use any swimming strokes you want. You will also float in deep water for 10 minutes, again using any methods that you want. This does not mean you have to be a champion swimmer, we just need to see that you can swim and that you
are comfortable in the water.
2. Learning Materials
You’ll need and use these training materials during and after your course:
• PADI Open Water Diver Manual (to be purchased by you) and PADI Open Water Diver DVD (provided by us, the dive
centre)
• Log book (provided by us, the dive centre, inclusive of the course)
• Recreational Dive Planner (Table, The Wheel® or eRDPTM) - provided with the manual pack.
