Friends who frequent (or don't frequent, but visit) Las Vegas -

I just booked a client a room at the Delano / W Hotel in a PENTHOUSE SUITE for one night...for $153!

If you're looking for a sign to go to Antarctica, this is it!

I've been to a lot of places in my life, and this was by far the best!

It was such an incredible experience, and we got lucky with one of the best weeks ever.
Our Captain, Expedition Leader, and Expedition Guides all said that in the several years they have been going to Antarctica, we saw and got to experience things that some of them had never seen, or only seen once:

- Actual falling snow (rare for summer there)
- lots of tabular ice and fast ice
- fresh sea ice forming
- an emperor penguin (rare for the area we were in)
- everyone got a continental landing (this doesn't always happen due to weather, avian flu, ice, etc)
- I saw 2 small avalanches, got 1 on video, and heard 2 other large ones that followed a glacier breaking

And if that wasn't enough... We hiked, we kayaked, we had lots of zodiac rides, we polar plunged, we stood on an active volcano.
We had dinner with the Captain, I won 3 games of bingo, got to do a bridge tour (all my time working on cruise ships, I've never seen the bridge). We made lots of friends, both with other guests and with the crew. 💜

I'm still reliving these 10 days in my head, and I already want to go again!

When I told my mom that I'd be stopping in Cairo 🇪🇬 on my way home from Tanzania 🇹🇿, she said that was the one place that Dad always wanted to visit.

I said, "I thought Alaska was the one place he always wanted to visit?"

"Well, yes, but also the pyramids."

So, two days ago when I was in Cairo, I made sure that Dad got to see the pyramids. 💜

Happy heavenly 75th birthday, Daddy. I miss you, and wish I could get to Columbus today to say hi. 😭
