Certainly, everyone wonders how the ancient Egyptians managed to transport those massive stones and obelisks.
But in fact, the pharaohs did not forget to record this — they even carved scenes on the walls of 📍Hatshepsut's Temple at Deir el-Bahari, illustrating in detail how the obelisks and stones were transported.
According to these carvings, a large ship was used to carry the obelisks, pulled by three rows of smaller boats — about ten in total — with a leading boat at the front serving as the guide, giving instructions and directing the movement.

🏺 Ancient Egyptian Coffins… More Than Just Boxes!
Have you ever imagined that a coffin could be more important than the bed someone sleeps on while alive?
In Ancient Egypt, a coffin wasn’t just a “box for the dead” — it was a gateway to eternity. And depending on social class and beliefs, coffins came in different shapes and styles.
Let’s explore the most iconic and mysterious types of coffins used by the Pharaohs:
1️⃣ The Simple Coffin – For the Common People
👥 Most ordinary Egyptians were buried in plain wooden or clay coffins.
They were rectangular, with little to no decoration, and sometimes had simple drawings or short protective texts written inside.
2️⃣ The Human-Shaped Coffin – A Mirror of the Deceased
In later dynasties, a special type of coffin appeared — the anthropoid coffin, shaped like the body of the person inside.
👑 It featured carved facial features, royal or religious clothing, and was designed to look like the deceased, based on the belief that the soul would return to the preserved body.
3️⃣ The Stone Sarcophagus – Too Heavy to Move!
⛏️ These massive stone coffins, usually made from granite or basalt, were reserved for kings and high priests.
They were so heavy they stayed inside the tomb forever and often held multiple inner coffins made of wood or even gold.
They were beautifully carved with protective spells, prayers, and images of gods like Anubis, Isis, and Nephthys — all meant to guard the dead on their journey to the afterlife.
4️⃣ The Magical Decorations – Beauty with a Purpose
💫 Coffins weren’t just decorative — every detail had a magical meaning:
The Eye of Horus for protection
Gold colors representing the sun and immortality
Texts from the Book of the Dead to guide the soul through the afterlife
These were powerful tools, not just pretty designs.
5️⃣ Tutankhamun’s Golden Coffin – The Most Famous of All
🛕 When archaeologists opened Tutankhamun’s tomb, they found something unbelievable:
The young king rested inside three coffins nested together, the innermost made of pure gold!
Every inch was decorated with sacred symbols, powerful spells, and lifelike facial features. It wasn’t just a burial item — it was a masterpiece of royal glory.
📌 Ancient Egyptian coffins are more than ancient artifacts… they’re windows into a civilization of mystery, magic, and majesty.
