In the heart of Cairo, two monumental mosques stand face-to-face, as if frozen in a timeless dialogue - 𝗔𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝗳𝗶’𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲 & 𝗦𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲 Together, they form one of the most breathtaking architectural duets in the Islamic world.
✨ 𝗔𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝗳𝗶’𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲
Built in 1912 in majestic Mamluk style, it was designed as a royal tomb by the mother of Khedive Ismail. Today, it holds the remains of Egypt’s last king Farouk, Khedive Ismail, and the last Shah of Iran, whose funeral in 1980 was led by President Sadat and Richard Nixon.

✨ 𝗦𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲
Built in the 1300s by Sultan Hassan, this towering masterpiece once housed 500 students and scholars. It served both as a mosque and a madrsa (Islamic School) for Islamic learning — and nearly drained the state’s treasury to complete.

🧭 Standing face-to-face, these two landmarks are more than mosques — they’re living chapters of Egypt’s royal and spiritual history.

Did you know that Philae Temple is also known as the Temple of Isis, the goddess of healing, love, and magic?

This enchanting temple once stood near the old Aswan Dam, where it was flooded half the year. In the 1960s, an incredible restoration program was undertaken, moving it stone by stone to its current home on Agilkia Island.

Today, Philae stands as a symbol of ancient devotion and architectural wonder.
With Mimo Tours, you can reach it by water taxi at sunrise or sunset, when the island feels like a dream.

Discover the eternal love story of Goddess Isis and God Osiris...
You can also witness their legend come alive in the Sound & Light Show.

Discover the Timeless Strength of Qaitbay Citadel – Alexandria’s Guardian by the Sea

Standing proudly at the edge of the Mediterranean, Qaitbay Citadel is one of the most iconic landmarks in Alexandria — and it's not just beautiful, it's brilliant too.

Originally built in 1477 AD by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay, this fortress was strategically designed to defend Egypt from potential invasions by sea. What makes its location incredibly smart is that it was constructed on the exact site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World!

Architecturally, the citadel is a masterpiece of Mamluk military design. Its solid stone walls, defensive towers, and narrow corridors were all carefully planned to withstand attacks and protect the city. From its rooftop, you get breathtaking panoramic views of the sea — just like the soldiers once did while watching for enemy ships.

It’s more than just a monument — it's a story of resilience, creativity, and brilliant design.

📸 Swipe to see some magical moments of our lovely guests discovering the Citadel’s creative charm — and don’t miss that peaceful shot of them gazing at the sea, exactly where history once stood guard. 💙

Old Cairo is one of the most important religious and historical areas in Egypt!
It is home to the famous Religions Complex, where Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are represented side by side — all in one small, powerful area.

The Mosque of Amr Ibn Al-As: Built in 641 AD, it was the first mosque in Egypt. It marks the beginning of Islamic architecture in the country and remains a center of spiritual and cultural value.

The Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus (Abu Serga): This Coptic church is believed to be one of the places where the Holy Family stayed during their journey through Egypt. The crypt under the church still holds deep spiritual meaning today.

The Ben Ezra Synagogue: Known as the oldest synagogue in Cairo, it holds a unique place in Jewish history. According to the legend, it stands near the spot where baby Moses was found in the Nile.

Visitors to Old Cairo experience a rare harmony of the three religions, all in one peaceful neighborhood!

Did You Know? Abu Simbel: A Temple That Defies Time
Over 3,000 years ago, Abu Simbel was carved into rock to honor Pharaoh Ramses II. But in the 1960s, when it was at risk of being flooded by Lake Nasser, it was dismantled and rebuilt piece by piece, 65 meters higher — an incredible rescue that saved its magic.

Twice a year — Feb 22 & Oct 22 — sunlight lights up Ramses II’s face inside the temple. These dates are believed to be his birthday and coronation, a moment where history and the stars meet.

At Mimo Tours, we bring you closer to stories that still shine thousands of years later. ✨
