recently opened a museum with a goal to empty it over time.

The UNESCO Virtual Museum of Stolen Cultural Objects documents cultural heritage objects that have been stolen or illegally trafficked around the world. The mission is to locate the cultural property and return it to the origin country or community. The Museum divides the objects into five world regions - Africa, Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and North America, and Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Virtual Museum uses advanced technologies, like 3D modelling, to create the image of the artifact, painting, or manuscript. It is designed in the shape of the baobab tree by award-winning designer Francis Kéré.

Snippets from our heritage walk down the old Chitpur Road. We took students of Loreto College and Presidency University around the neighborhood as a part of their Heritage Course.

Lower Chitpur Road, only Chitpur today, was a commercial neighborhood in the colonial era. Even before, people of different trading communities and professions settled here. We explore the heritage shops, Nakhoda Masjid, and the residences of prominent individuals.

Follow us to stay updated about more such herotage walks around the city.

❤️ Love against all odds! Heer and Ranjha’s love story is a timeless saga of passion and defiance against rigid social norms. Their tale of struggle, sacrifice, and separation reflects the enduring battle between love and societal expectations. But is Heer Ranjha just a tragic love story, or does it also carry a deeper message about personal agency and societal resistance? 💌

The first episode of Love Aaj Kal: Mohabbat ki Dastaan Panno ke Uss Paar series sheds a light on the topic with Anisur Rahman, a distinguished poet, translator, and literary critic with a deep passion for language and literature. He was a former Professor of English at Jamia Millia Islamia, where he nurtured generations of students, and currently serves as Senior Advisor at Rekhta Foundation. His work spans Comparative, Translation, Urdu, and Postcolonial Studies, reflecting his lifelong engagement with diverse literary traditions.

An accomplished author, he has penned four books, co-edited six volumes, and translated Urdu poetry into English, with notable works like Earthenware: Sixty Poems, In Translation: Positions and Paradigms, and Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi: The Wonderful World of Urdu Ghazals. Beyond academia, Professor Rahman has played key administrative roles and fostered literary scholarship globally, having been a fellow at the University of Alberta and a Visiting Scholar at Purdue University. His journey continues to bridge languages, cultures, and poetic sensibilities.✨✍️
