The first episode of Love Aaj Kal: Mohabbat ki Dastaan Panno ke Uss Paar series sheds a light on the topic with Anisur Rahman, a distinguished poet, translator, and literary critic with a deep passion for language and literature. He was a former Professor of English at Jamia Millia Islamia, where he nurtured generations of students, and currently serves as Senior Advisor at Rekhta Foundation. His work spans Comparative, Translation, Urdu, and Postcolonial Studies, reflecting his lifelong engagement with diverse literary traditions.
An accomplished author, he has penned four books, co-edited six volumes, and translated Urdu poetry into English, with notable works like Earthenware: Sixty Poems, In Translation: Positions and Paradigms, and Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi: The Wonderful World of Urdu Ghazals. Beyond academia, Professor Rahman has played key administrative roles and fostered literary scholarship globally, having been a fellow at the University of Alberta and a Visiting Scholar at Purdue University.
