ومن عادة أسماك (Stingrays)أنها تبقى ساكنة على قاع البحر تدفن نفسها في الرمال ولا يظهر منها سوى العينان وعندما تشعر بالخطر تضرب بذيلها في حركة سريعة جداً فتندفع الشوكة بقوة في جسم الفريسة وتغرس أسنانها الجانبية بين الأنسجة مما يجعل إخراجها صعباً دون إجراء عملية جراحية، وتظهر على المصاب أعراض التسمم فوراً ويشعر ببرودة ورعشة وتشنج إطرافه. وتحدث الإصابة عادة في القدم إلا انه سجلت إصابات في أجزاء متعددة من الجسم....

The green turtle is one of the largest sea turtles in the world, which can grow up to 3-4 feet in length, and can weigh up to 317 kilograms."........

السلحفاة الخضراء أحد أنواع السلاحف التي تعيش في مياه البحار. تبيض الأنثى في المتوسط حوالي 100 بيضة وتدفنها في الرمال. وقد تبدو السلحفاة الحضراء أثناء وجودها على الشاطئ وكأنها تبكي أو كأن عيناها تدمعان، وفي واقع الأمر هي لا تبكي وإنما تتخلص من الملح الزائد في جسمها عن طريق طرحه على شكل دموع خارج العين.وتعتبر السلحفاة الخضراء من أكبر السلاحف البحرية في العالم، والتي يمكن أن تنمو حتى يصل طولها ما بين (3-4) أقدام، ويمكن أن يصل وزنها إلى 317 كيلوجرام.
