🔹 History says that around 1600 BC, in the land of Canaan, hitherto fertile, there was a long drought and famine. This forced the inhabitants of this land, the people of Israel, to set off in search of new habitats. So the Jews came to the Nile Valley.
Ramzes II, who known as the most prominent pharaoh in the history of Egypt and who ruled around the 13th century BC, considered the Israelites dangerous to his state. They were turned into slaves and driven to the most difficult work: to build dams, lay channels, cut stones in quarries. All that remained was to hope for a miracle. The Israelites believed that a man would be born who would come to them and save them. And this miracle happened.
🔹 One of the Israeli mothers, Jochebed, put the child in a wicker basket and secretly carried it to the banks of the Nile. At that moment, according to the Bible, the daughter of the pharaoh appeared on the shore with the maidservants. The pharaoh's daughter wanted to bathe. The maids were the first to enter the water and suddenly they saw a basket with a child in the reeds.

🔸️The holiday is the anniversary of the start of the fourth Arab-Israeli war. This day in Egypt is a public holiday.

🔸️The Fourth Arab-Israeli War (better known as the Yom Kippur War or the October War) took place in 1973 between Egypt and Syria on one side and Israel on the other. Its reason was the desire of the Arab states to return the territories lost during the previous conflict with Israel.
🔸️As a result of hostilities, Egypt regained the Sinai Peninsula.
🔸️The Egyptians consider October 6 the day of national victory. Its celebration is accompanied by military parades and other solemn events.

🔸️ Праздник является годовщиной начала четвертой арабо-израильской войны. Этот день в Египте – официальный выходной.

History says that this is the very peak on which Moses received a revelation from God: two stone slabs on which the 10 commandments were written.
🌐 Once again, this mountain is mentioned in the Bible in connection with the prophet Elijah - he also went to pray here.
🌐 In the VI century. at the foot of the mountain was founded the Monastery of St. Catherine - its main shrines are considered to be just the same bush - the Burning Bush - and the relics of the Holy Great Martyr Catherine.

🌓 The Colossi of Memnon (Arabic ‎i Masri تمثالا ممنون el-Colossat or es-Salamat) are two massive stone statues that actually represent Pharaoh Amenhotep III, not Memnon. For the last 3,400 years, they have stood in the necropolis of the city of Thebes, on the other side of the Nile River from the modern city of Luxor.
🌓 Two statues depict a seated Amenhotep III (c. 14th century BC). His hands are on his knees, and his gaze is turned east to the river and the rising sun.
🌓 At the beginning of the 1st century, an earthquake occurred that destroyed the northern colossus.
🌓 Once shattered, the statue gained a reputation for "singing" every morning at dawn: a slight moan or whistle may have been caused by the rising temperature and evaporation of moisture inside the porous stone.

🌓 Колоссы Ме́мнона (араб. ‎и масри تمثالا ممنون el-Colossat или es-Salamat) — две массивные каменные статуи, в действительности изображающие фараона Аменхотепа III, а не Мемнона. Последние 3400 лет они простояли в некрополе города Фивы, по другую сторону реки Нил от современного города Луксор.
🌓 Две статуи изображают сидящего Аменхотепа III (ок. XIV столетия до н. э.). Его руки положены на колени, а взгляд обращён на восток к реке и восходящему солнцу.
🌓 В начале I столетия нашей эры, произошло землетрясение, которое разрушило северный колосс. Расколовшись, статуя получила репутацию «поющей» каждое утро на рассвете: лёгкий стон или посвистывание, возможно, были вызваны повышающейся температурой и испарением влаги внутри пористого камня.
