Soon, Elnahla Journeys will be able to add a new evening experience at the Grand Egyptian Museum to our Cairo and Giza .

Starting 1 November 2026, visitors can enjoy “Eternal Sun”—a 35-minute immersive light and sound show presented in the Grand Hall around the magnificent statue of Ramesses II.

The experience combines projection mapping, music, dramatic lighting and bilingual storytelling in English and Arabic, bringing ancient Egyptian history to life after the museum’s regular visiting hours.

Please note:

• Advance reservation is required.
• Visitors should arrive at least 30 minutes before the show.
• Children under six are not admitted.
• Guests under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Mobile-phone photography is permitted, but flash, tripods, selfie sticks, drones and live streaming are prohibited.
• The show includes lasers, flashing lights and loud music, so it may not be suitable for visitors with epilepsy or sensory sensitivity.

Egypt’s ancient story continues to unfold in the heart of the Nile Delta. 🇪🇬

At Behbeit el-Hagar, near Samannoud in Gharbia, enormous granite blocks preserve the remains of a remarkable temple dedicated to Isis—once an important centre of her worship in northern Egypt. Its surviving carvings offer glimpses into the religious life, royal traditions, and craftsmanship of ancient Egypt.

Now, new discoveries are bringing fresh attention to the area. Egyptian archaeologists have uncovered the remains of two colossal royal statues: one identified as Ramesses II, and another believed to represent the same king, alongside a pink-granite block bearing royal titles. Excavations and research continue to establish their relationship to the site.

There is also a human story behind this discovery. A local resident, Khaled El-Shahat Khalil, found an inscribed stone on his land and reported it to the authorities, enabling archaeologists to investigate. His honesty helped protect another piece of Egypt’s heritage.

Discoveries like this remind us how much there is still to learn—and how preserving Egypt’s history depends on the care and awareness of people today.
