The Golden Throne of Tutankhamun is one of the most magnificent treasures discovered in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings in 1922 by Howard Carter.

Highlights of the Throne
Made of wood covered with sheets of gold, silver, precious stones, and colored glass.
The backrest shows a beautiful and intimate scene of King Tutankhamun seated while his wife, Ankhesenamun, gently anoints him.
The artwork reflects the artistic style of the Amarna Period introduced during the reign of Akhenaten.
Symbols on the throne include protective cobras, sun disks, and royal motifs representing power and divine protection.
Historical Importance
The throne was found inside the tomb of Tutankhamun almost completely intact and gives historians valuable insight into royal life, craftsmanship, and religion in ancient Egypt over 3,300 years ago.

Today, the throne is displayed at the Grand Egyptian Museum, where visitors can admire its extraordinary details and remarkable preservation.
