Umm Gammar means ‘mother of the moon’ because of the shape of the reef. Umm Gammar is a coral heaven, about 45 minutes sailing from Hurghada. The sealife is remarkably busy here. Its frequent visitors are
napoleon wrasse, big silver sweetlips and moray eels. But that’s not all! Here you will also meet napoleon fish, morays, the disk-shaped batfish, redmouth groupers and scores of Red Sea bannerfish.

Good periods for snorkelling are the late spring and early summer months and the autumn months! Water temperatures in April, May and June are from 21 ℃ to 25 ℃ and in the autumn the mercury pleasantly hits 21 ℃ to 25 ℃

After 90 minutes of sailing in the morning sunshine, we reach Orange Bay. The sea here is turquoise and the atmosphere laid-back. The fine beach is decked out with wooden umbrellas, deck chairs, bean bags, klim carpets and wooden cabanas. We make two snorkelling stops along the way to or from Orange Bay.

Sha’ab El Erg, around 40 minutes from Hurghada, is also known as The Dolphin House. It’s an elected opportunity to spot bottlenose dolphins in their natural Red Sea environment. One part of Sha’ab El Erg is called the Poseidon Garden, home to beautifully shaped formations, decorated with fine soft and hard coral, patrolled by all kinds of schooling fish.

The snorkelling opportunities and choices to make in the Red Sea are almost without limits, with so many of her unique locations with fantastic marine life. The Big and Small Giftun Islands, some 1,5 hours sailing from Hurghada, are a very good choice to enjoy the sensational underwater world of Egypt. Their white beaches are top of the bill too! Giftun Islands are your place to be for a fine day of snorkelling and lazy sunbathing too. The coral reef snorkelling is simply superb.

Our adventurous sailing trips towards snorkelling destinations usually depart in the morning hours at approx 08:30 and we return by 16:00hrs in the afternoon; So the tour duration is a full day. Our snorkelling excursions are suitable for all ages. Our guides are bilingual. We take of transportation per boat, snorkelling equipment and guide, soft drinks, coffee and tea, freshly prepared buffet lunch on board and the transfers to and from the hotel. All you have to bring is your towel and sun cream.
Our snorkelling trips usually have two stops, are weather permitting and subject to governmental approval.
