Red Sea Governor Performs Eid al-Adha Prayer at the Grand Mosque in Hurghada Amidst a Large Congregation

Dr. Walid al-Barqi, Governor of the Red Sea, performed the Eid al-Adha prayer this morning at the Grand Mosque in Hurghada, amidst a large congregation of citizens.

This took place in the presence of Major General Assem al-Sharif, First Assistant Minister of Interior for the Southern Region; Major General Ayman al-Hamzawi, Assistant Minister of Interior and Director of Security for the Red Sea; Major General Tamer Adel, Director of National Security; Brigadier General Mohamed al-Sayed Talba, Military Advisor to the Governor; Engineer Hassan Muwafi, Secretary-General; Major General Diaa al-Din Qutb, Assistant Secretary-General; and a number of security and executive leaders in the governorate.

The mosque witnessed a large influx of worshippers who came to perform the Eid prayer in an atmosphere of joy and spirituality.

Following the prayer, the Governor extended his congratulations to the people of the governorate and to the Egyptian people on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, praying to God that it returns to everyone with goodness, prosperity, and blessings, and that He continues to bestow upon Egypt the blessings of security and stability under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. For his part, Sheikh Hossam Mahmoud, Imam of the Port Mosque, emphasized during his Eid sermon that holidays represent seasons of goodness, compassion, and strengthening family ties. He pointed out that Eid al-Adha is a great day in which the meanings of righteousness, tolerance, and social solidarity are manifested through generosity towards family and assistance to the poor and needy.

At the conclusion of the rituals, citizens were keen to congratulate the governor and take commemorative photos with him, expressing their happiness at his sharing in their Eid celebrations.

Red Sea Governor Inspects British University Medical Convoy in Hurghada

For the first time, a mobile dental and maxillofacial clinic joins a comprehensive medical convoy in Hurghada.

Dr. Walid El-Barqi, Governor of the Red Sea, conducted a field inspection this morning of the comprehensive medical convoy organized at Al-Dahar Grand Mosque in Hurghada. The convoy is led by the British University in Egypt in collaboration with the Mostaqbal Watan Party and the Directorate of Health Affairs in the governorate, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the healthcare system and provide free medical services to citizens.
During his visit, the governor expressed his appreciation to all those involved in organizing the convoy, particularly the professors and medical staff of the British University in Egypt. He emphasized the vital role such initiatives play in alleviating the burden on citizens, especially in underserved areas. He also praised the effective cooperation between educational institutions, political entities, and healthcare authorities in serving the community.
Dr. El-Barqi further extended an invitation to the British University to organize similar medical convoys in the southern cities of Halayeb and Shalateen.
The convoy is held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Lotfy, President of the British University in Egypt and Member of the Senate, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tarek Abbas, Vice President for Medical Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ferdous Rizk, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry.
The initiative covers a wide range of medical specialties, including internal medicine, orthopedics, and dentistry—which is participating for the first time—alongside maxillofacial surgery. Services are delivered through a fully equipped mobile medical unit featuring state-of-the-art equipment and supported by a complete medical team. Additional services include blood donation and transfusion.
The convoy is led by Prof. Dr. Dalia Ghloush, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Dr walid Elbarqi Red Sea Governor , visited St. Shenouda Cathedral, Catholic Church, and Evangelical Church in Hurghada to congratulate Coptic Christians in the Occasion Copts happy Easter.

The Governor and his accompanying delegation were warmly received by church leaders in Hurghada. Joining him during the visit were Major General Ayman El-Hamzawy, Director of Red Sea Security; Major General Tamer Adel, Director of National Security in the Red Sea; Ms. Magda Hanna, Deputy Governor; Brigadier General Mohamed Talba, Military Advisor; Major General Mohamed Selim, Assistant Secretary-General; Mr. Haitham Fares, Director of the Governor’s Office, along with heads of directorates, representatives of Al-Azhar and the Ministry of Endowments, as well as members of the House of Representatives and the Senate.

In his remarks, the Governor extended his greetings to thousands of Copts across the cities of the Red Sea Governorate, stating:
"On my behalf and on behalf of the people of the Red Sea Governorate, I extend my sincere congratulations to our Christian brothers and sisters on the occasion of Easter. We wish you days filled with joy and love."

Hurghada – Egypt delivered yet another statement of global dominance in squash, as the stunning courts of El Gouna hosted the grand finale of the prestigious El Gouna International Squash Open.

In a spectacular night that brought together the elite of world squash, Red Sea Governor Dr. Amr Hanafy and Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy crowned Egypt’s Hania El Hammamy as champion of the tournament’s 14th edition. Reflecting the Red Sea Governorate's tireless efforts to develop sports infrastructure and provide a comprehensive environment to harness the energies of young people and hone their talents, and as part of an ongoing series of projects across various sectors in the governorate, the Safaga Youth Camp was among the top priorities receiving direct attention from the governorate's executive leadership.

Dr. Walid El-Barqi, Red Sea Governor , and Gawhar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, visited the Safaga Youth Camp for a comprehensive field tour that included the Governor's Office Director, the Director of the Youth and Sports Directorate, representatives of the implementing company, and Dr. Naila from the consulting firm.

The camp, spanning a total area of ​​13,900 square meters, includes a five-a-side football pitch, a swimming pool, a restaurant, a gym, workshops, an activity hall, a laundry, a scout theater, green spaces, a swimming pool, chalets, and an integrated investment zone.

In a statement following the tour, Dr. Walid Al-Barqi affirmed that "the Safaga camp represents a true model of investment in youth, meeting the aspirations of the governorate's residents and enhancing the Red Sea's position as a distinguished sports and tourism destination." He noted that he had ordered the swift completion of the construction work, an increase in capacity, and the addition of new areas for various sports activities.

Ongoing Meetings to Upgrade Hurghada’s Waste Management System

El-Barqi Announces Urgent Plan to Relocate Sorting Centers Outside Residential Areas and Integrate Informal Sector

Dr walid elbarqi , Red Sea Governor, chaired an expanded meeting to follow up on the development of the waste management system in Hurghada, with the participation of executive officials and HEPCA.

During the meeting, it was agreed to relocate waste-sorting activities outside residential areas by establishing a centralized, well-organized sorting complex. This step aims to eliminate random sorting practices within neighborhoods and improve the city’s overall environmental and aesthetic standards.

The discussions also included allocating a dedicated site for organic waste treatment, alongside initiating the rehabilitation of the old landfill in compliance with environmental regulations.

Additionally, the meeting addressed mechanisms to integrate informal waste collectors into the formal system, ensuring better regulation, improved efficiency, and the protection of workers’ rights.

The Governor further emphasized the importance of enforcing strict legal measures to safeguard reclaimed state-owned lands and prevent any future encroachments.
