We will visit the Temple of Koum Oumbo, standing on high grounds overlooking the Nile. It differs from other temples because of its double entrance, each one is dedicated to divinity: “Haroeris” with his falcon head and ” Sobek ” with his crocodile head. The Temple of Kom Ombo was built in honor of two deities the crocodile-headed Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris, or the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Also, Kom Ombo’s importance lies in its huge sugar-cane

Abu Simbel is an archaeological site located on the western bank of Lake Nasser, about 290 km southwest of Aswan . It is one of the “Nubian Monuments” sites included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites . Which starts from the direction the river flows from Abu Simbel to Philae near Aswan.
The double temples were originally carved out of the mountains during the reign of King Ramesses II in the thirteenth century BC, as a permanent monument to him and Queen Nefertari , to commemorate his victory at the Battle of Kadesh . However, in 1960 the complex of facilities was moved entirely to another location, on an artificial hill made of a dome structure, above the reservoir of the Aswan High Dam .
It was necessary to move the temples to avoid them being drowned during the construction of Lake Nasser , and a huge artificial water reservoir was formed after the construction of the High Dam in Aswan on the Nile River . Abu Simbel is still one of the best areas to attract tourism in Egypt.

Luxor Temple is a large, complex ancient Egyptian temple located on the eastern bank of the Nile River in the city of Luxor today, known as ( Ancient Thebes ). It was founded in 1400 BC. The Luxor Temple was built to worship Amun Ra , his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu ; They are the gods who are also called the Theban Trinity (Theban Trinity). Luxor Temple was built during the reign of the kings of the Eighteenth Dynasty and the Nineteenth Dynasty . The most important existing buildings in the temple are those built by Kings Amenhotep III (1397-1360 BC) and Ramesses II (1290-1223 BC) (who added to the temple the open courtyard, the edifice, and the two obelisks). King Thutmose III (1490-1436 BC) also established shrines for visitors to the Holy Triad of Thebes, and Tutankhamun (1348-1337 BC) completed the inscriptions on its walls. The tripartite chamber, which had previously been built during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut and King Thutmose III (of the Eighteenth Dynasty), was destroyed. Then it was rebuilt during the reign of King Ramesses II . The temple was also called “Epetreset” (meaning the southern sanctuary or the private place of Amun-Ra). It is one of the best preserved and most beautiful Egyptian temples, and the layout of the Egyptian temple is clearly evident.

On the East bank of the Nile River, in the south of Egypt, the World’s Largest Outdoor Museum, Luxor city, contains one of the most beautiful temple standing. The Luxor Temple is a mark of Ancient Egyptian civilization, strikingly graceful monument in the heart of modern Luxor.
Different than other temples in Luxor, the Luxor temple was not built in adoration to a god or to a god figure of the kings and pharaohs; instead, Luxor Temple was built in dedication to the rejuvenation of kingship. Many kings might have had they crowning at the Temple of Luxor, whether crowned in reality or conceptually as in the case of Alexander the Great, who claimed he was crowned at Luxor although facts contradict appear that he had never traveled south of Memphis which is considered the modern city of Cairo.
In the Egyptian language, the Luxor Temple is known as ipet resyt which means the southern sanctuary; its main function was during the annual Opet festivals. At these festivals, the statues of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu were moved from Karnak, along the Avenue of Sphinxes, and reunited here during the inundation.

The Citadel is situated at the entrance of the eastern harbor on the eastern point of Pharos Island. It was erected on the site of the former Lighthouse of Alexandria, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Many structural modifications were made to the lighthouse after the Arab conquest of Egypt, but the lighthouse continued to function for many centuries. Restoration began in the period of Ahmed Ibn Tulun (about 880 AD). During the 11th century, an earthquake occurred, causing damage to the octagonal part. The bottom survived, but it could only serve as a watchtower, and a small mosque was built on the top. Two very destructive earthquakes occurred in 1303 and 1323, which resulted in the complete destruction of the lighthouse.

The sphinx is located southeast of the pyramids. While the date of its construction is not known for certain, the general consensus among Egyptologists is that the head of the Great Sphinx bears the likeness of the pharaoh Khafre, dating it to between 2600 and 2500 BC. However, a fringe minority of late 20th century geologists have claimed evidence of water erosion in and around the Sphinx enclosure which would prove that the Sphinx predates Khafre, at around 10,000 to 5000 BC, a claim that is sometimes referred to as the Sphinx water erosion hypothesis but which has little support among Egyptologists and contradicts other evidence.
