I’m happy to see that our press conference in Luxor yesterday was a success. Over 300 Egyptian and foreign press attended in the shadow of the temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El-Bahari.

I announced the discovery of over 1500 blocks with beautiful colorful scenes with the cartouches of Hatshepsut and Thutmose III. We now have the complete program of the valley temple of Hatshepsut’s mortuary temple and we found the temple’s foundation deposit and evidence that Thutmose III restored this temple.

We also found a large cemetery dated to Dynasty 17, containing Rishi coffins, one coffin is tied with ropes, along with bows and arrowbows used to fight the Hyksos.

Additionally, the team found the tomb of the overseer of Queen Tetysheri’s palace, the grandmother of King Ahmose.

These discoveries are the first major royal discoveries since the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb.

يسعدني أن أرى أن المؤتمر الصحفي الذي عقدناه في الأقصر بالأمس كان ناجحًا. حضر أكثر من 300 صحفي مصري وأجنبي تحت ظلال معبد الملكة حتشبسوت في الدير البحري.

أعلنت عن اكتشاف أكثر من 1500 كتلة حجرية تحمل مشاهد ملونة جميلة ونقوش خرطوش الملكة حتشبسوت والملك تحتمس الثالث. أصبح لدينا الآن البرنامج الكامل لمعبد الوادي الخاص بحتشبسوت، كما عثرنا على وديعة أساس المعبد وأدلة تشير إلى أن تحتمس الثالث قام بترميم هذا المعبد.

كذلك، تم اكتشاف جبانة تعود إلى الأسرة السابعة عشرة، والتي تحتوي على توابيت “ريشي”، ومن بينها تابوت مربوط بالحبال، إلى جانب أقواس وسهام استخدمت لطرد الهكسوس. كما تم العثور على مقبرة تخص ديجحوتي-مس، الذي كان مدير قصر تتي-شيري، جدة الملك أحمس.

تُعد هذه اكتشافات ملكية تُكشف لأول مرة منذ اكتشاف مقبرة الملك توت عنخ آمون.

New Discovery 🇪🇬

A joint French-Swiss archaeological mission has uncovered the mastaba tomb of a royal physician named “Teti Neb Fu” in the southern part of Saqqara, dating back to the Old Kingdom during the reign of King Pepi II.

The tomb is adorned with stunning carvings and vibrant artwork, including a beautifully painted false door and scenes of funerary offerings. Teti Neb Fu held prestigious titles such as Chief Palace Physician, Priest and “Magician” of the Goddess Serket (expert in venomous bites) , Chief Dentist and Director of Medicinal Plants

Despite evidence of ancient looting, the tomb’s walls remain intact, offering a rare glimpse into daily life and cultural practices during the Old Kingdom. The team also discovered a stone sarcophagus with inscriptions bearing the physician's name and titles.

This incredible find adds to Saqqara's rich legacy as one of Egypt's most significant archaeological sites.
