My wife and I just spent a month at Flats in Luxor Al Gezera. This is the third year we have stayed there. The flats are spacious and have a wonderful view of the Theban Hills. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a large wraparound deck. Mahmoud is an excellent host. He is happy to arrange tours, boat rides, and shopping trips. This year ,as always, we had a felucca ride on the Nile followed by dinner on the water. We highly recommend Flats in Luxor. We like it so much that we have already booked for next year.

My husband and I have been staying at Flats in Luxor for seven consecutive winters and are very happy here. Mahmoud goes out of his way to ensure that we are well looked after. Although we cook most of our meals ourselves, upon request Mahmoud will arrange catered meals. This is especially appreciated when you first arrive and are jet-lagged. (We are from Toronto, Canada, so the time difference is seven hours!) Mahmoud has intimate knowledge of the various villages and cities on both sides of the Nile and can readily answer most of your questions. In addition, Mahmoud can and will organize virtually any kind of activity you desire. Over the years, we have gone for a hot air balloon ride, ridden camels across the desert to a Coptic monastery, taken quad bikes out into the desert where we saw innumerable fossils from eons ago when the desert was under water, gone fishing on Lake Nasser, toured Cairo and its many sights with our own private guide, enjoyed a six-night trip aboard a “sandal” (a small sailing boat with a few comfortable cabins) from Luxor to Aswan, visited Abu Simbel both during the day and also to see the sound and light show at night, and every year we enjoy at least one afternoon/evening sail in a felucca with a delightful supper served onboard a motorboat after dusk. All in all, we highly recommend Mahmoud and his huge Flats in Luxor. Oh, and an incredible added bonus is that his Al Gezera Flats offer the very best view of the Theban Hills during the day and the magical lighted hills at night: a scene never to be missed!

He arranged a felucca trip where we sailed from Esna south towards Aswan and back. This beautiful boat was even equipped with a bathroom! What a peaceful and relaxing way to see Egypt from the legendary Nile River. I can’t say enough about how great the staff on the boat was, not only at sailing but in creating some of the most delicious food I have ever had while in Egypt! Due to Covid, I was unable to visit Egypt in 2020. In September, 2021 I returned to Flats in Luxor once again, and stayed for two months. As always, it was a pleasure to arrive and see old friends. The staff at Flats in Luxor are wonderful, and they take care of their guests very well. If there are any problems, Mahmoud will respond quickly and efficiently.
