The Temple of Khnum
Esna - 60km south of Luxor.
One of the most preserved temples in Egypt, dedicated to Khnum. The beautiful releifs and colours decorate the ceiling, and the columns are in excellent condition.
You can find the 14 moon phases of each half of the moon cycle lined up in a row with the eye of Horus inside.
The other end of the ceiling is decorated with the astrological star signs lined up in two rows. One row shows 6 star signs, from Pisces to Leo. The other row shows the other 6 from Vergo to Aquarius. Plus, depictions of different star constellations.
