📢 Important Update – EU Residency Applications in Spain

Please be aware of an important update to the requirements for EU Residency applications.

From now on, applicants must show that their private health insurance policy has been active for at least 15 days before the residency appointment.

In addition, you must provide:

✔️ A private health insurance policy with full coverage in Spain
✔️ Proof the policy has been active for a minimum of 15 days
✔️ Receipt confirming the insurance has been paid for the full year

This documentation will be requested when applying for EU Residency (Registro de Ciudadano de la Unión).

⚠️ If the insurance has only just been activated or the annual payment receipt is missing, the application may not be accepted.

If you are planning to apply for EU residency, we recommend arranging your health insurance well in advance to avoid delays.

🚨 New UK Travel Rules Start Today (ETA System) 🇬🇧✈️

From 25 February, many travellers who previously entered the UK visa-free (including EU citizens, Americans, Australians and others) must now apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travelling.

✅ Costs £16
✅ Valid for 2 years
✅ Allows multiple visits of up to 6 months (tourism, business or short study)
✅ Usually approved within minutes via the official app

⚠️ Important for dual nationals:
If you are a British citizen AND hold another passport, you cannot use an ETA.
You must travel with:
• 🇬🇧 A British passport, OR
• 📄 A Certificate of Entitlement linked to your foreign passport

Without one of these, airlines may refuse boarding or you could be denied entry.

New Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)

The UK is introducing a new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for short-stay visits.

❓ Who Does This Affect?

You will need an ETA if:

✔ You are from a country that does NOT require a visa to visit the UK
✔ This includes EU nationals 🇪🇺
✔ You are travelling for up to 6 months
✔ You do NOT hold:
• A UK visa
• A Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)
• A Biometric Residence Card (BRC)
