As the season comes to an end, the angel shark slowly disappears beneath the sand, perfectly camouflaged and hidden from sight.

These incredible masters of disguise will now spend more time resting and staying protected on the ocean floor until the next season begins.

Every encounter this year has been a reminder of how special and fragile these endangered sharks truly are. See you next season, angels. 🦈✨

🐟 Barracuda in Tenerife
During our dives, barracudas can form large, coordinated schools, providing a clear example of group behaviour and predator-prey dynamics in coastal ecosystems.

Part of our Marine Biology Internship can also be completed online, allowing Erasmus+ or internship students to earn credits while following field observations remotely.

This video was made by Calle Kiviniemi, who recently completed a one-month internship with us and continued part of the program virtually.

Observing species like barracudas helps interns link ecological theory with real-world marine behaviour.
