Some stories of Barcelona’s medieval Jewish community don’t live on the surface… you have to go beneath it to find them. Literally.
Hidden underground inside the History Museum lies this centuries-old Jewish tombstone, tucked within a labyrinth of ruins from an ancient Roman colony called Barcino.
My goal is to show you what is not on the surface.

Do you find yourself sitting in front of a computer with 50 open tabs and spending days planning your trip to Barcelona?

Due to a high volume of emails and calls from clients seeking assistance with itinerary planning, I created an itinerary-planning service to help you arrive prepared, relaxed, and confident.

As a Jewish guide living in Barcelona for 15 years, I help travelers experience Barcelona in a way that is culturally rich, logistically smooth, and aligned with their religious and personal values.

Barcelona is a city of a deep Jewish legacy that many visitors don’t fully discover on their own. With the right planning, your visit can be smooth and meaningful.

My goal is to help you experience Barcelona in a way that feels meaningful and thoughtfully planned, so that once you arrive, you can simply enjoy.

Whether you’re coming for a city break, a layover, a bat/bar mitzvah, a family vacation, or a Jewish tour of Barcelona, I can create a custom itinerary tailored specifically to your needs, pace, interests, and level of observance.

The name of this site in Girona, “Arab baths”, is a bit confusing.
It was built by Christians in 1194 (the first mention of the bath dates back to 1194), inspired by Islamic and Roman bath styles.
In the ceiling of what used to be a changing room, there is a Magen David. What a surprise! It is believed that the building was used as a mikvah by Girona’s Jewish community during the Middle Ages, until the building was bought by a community of Capuchin nuns in 1618.

If you want to step away from the crowded streets of Barcelona’s Old Town, visiting Montjuic Castle is a great option to enjoy one of the best panoramic views of Barcelona and the sea.
Located on the same mountain Montjuic (it stands for the “Jewish Mountain”) where the Jewish cemetery was located in the Middle Ages, the Castle’s origins date back to 1640.
Initially, it was a military fortress protecting Barcelona from invaders.
During the Spanish Civil War, it was used as a prison for political prisoners.
Let me know if you need help with directions and the best ways to get there.

Wishing you a peaceful and healthy New Year!
The entrance doors of some houses in Barcelona have what looks like a Magen David on them. Guessing why? You are welcome to join my tours to find out.
