A historic moment for Barcelona ✨

This Tuesday, June 9th, our city welcomes Pope Leo XIV for a deeply significant visit (June 9-11). If you’re around the city, here is why this week is so special:

1️⃣ Honoring a Genius: on June 10th. a commemoration Mass of the 100 year anniversary of the death of Antoni Gaudí. Will honor the life and visionary legacy of the architect who defined our city’s identity.

2️⃣ A Milestone in Stone: The Pope will officially bless and inaugurate the newly completed central Tower of Jesus Christ at the ; rising 172.5 meters, making it the tallest Christian church in the world.

⚠️ Navigating the City:
Because of the historic nature of this event, the areas surrounding the Sagrada Família, Gothic Quarter, Montjuic and Montserrat will experience major traffic restrictions and heavy crowds. We highly recommend leaving the car behind and avoiding taxis.

The best way to get around? Barcelona’s public transportation network (Metro, FGC and bus).

Most people visit Barcelona and stop at the big names. Smart travelers go a step further.

Just outside the city lies Colonia Güell; one of the most fascinating (and underrated) projects connected to Gaudí. Not a monument. A living idea.

This industrial colony was designed as a complete ecosystem, where architecture, community, and daily life came together. And here’s the key: it wasn’t just Gaudí. Architects like Rubió i Bellver and Berenguer i Mestres also shaped the estate, all under the influence of Catalan Modernisme at its peak.

Look closely and you’ll see the difference.

Brick is not just structure , it’s identity. Traditional Catalan construction becomes decoration. Gothic and Mudejar influences are reinterpreted, not copied. And craftsmanship isn’t an afterthought: ceramics, ironwork, glass… everything is intentional, everything speaks.
