The routes we take through the Cantabrian-Palentina mountains are full of attractions: enchanting natural scenery as we travel through the Saja-Besaya and Montaña Palentina Natural Parks; lush forests and endless peaks on the horizon stretching toward the Picos de Europa; an astonishing concentration of Romanesque churches—solid and stately—some of which are dramatically situated atop the hills, amidst the solitude of an uninhabited and enchanting landscape. On our way home, we explored the Roman Villa of La Olmeda, which surprised us with its vast size and exceptional state of preservation.

Our first spring trip enveloped us in an atmosphere of rain, mist, and sunny spells that accentuated the rugged and captivating character of these lands.

The turquoise waters dotted the landscape here and there like constant temptations. For the overheated cyclists in Sardinia in late June 2026, they represented a miraculous oasis at the height of a heat wave. An excellent trip that has once again made us aware of the climate change that keeps recurring on these summer routes. The northeastern part of this island, which corresponds to the ancient region of Nurra, is a tiny fraction of this immense island, but it’s well worth dedicating a few days exclusively to discovering its hidden treasures—of which the Asinara National Park could be the crown jewel.

A circular tour of the Basque Country linking greenways. Pamplona, San Sebastian, Zumaia, Oñati, Araba, and Estella. A collection of changing landscapes and wild skies. Harsh winter cycling weather accompanied by the continuous dance performed by Irina and Joseph. No sooner had one front passed than another appeared on the track. However, the spectacle of the bare beech forests and the lonely plains of Álava mesmerized the spirit and engained the body.

This summer we cycled beneath the imposing silhouette of the Dolomites —formed millions of years ago in the ancient Tethys Sea— riding through green valleys and picture-perfect villages that look as if they were taken straight from The Sound of Music. Stelvio, Gavia, Mortirolo, Fedaia, Pordoi… legendary names in cycling history, linked to the epic Giro d'Italia races that immortalized Coppi and Bartali.

Today, although the area has become crowded during the summer months the region retains the beauty and power of those legendary cycling days. Thousands of cyclists continue to fill its valleys, reliving the magic of its roads every day.

The EDERBIDEA cycle route is part of a European cooperation projectin which the cross-border territories of Navarre, Gipuzkoa, and the Atlantic Pyrenees have coordinated to create a fantastic route. The itinerary begins in the lively city of Bayonne and continues along the Atlantic coast, offering unique views, before connecting with the Bidasoa greenway that leads to the bucolic villages of Baztan. Changing landscapes among lush forests run along empty roads until the junction with the Plazaola greenway. The Plazaola is one of the most extraordinary greenways due to its rich natural heritage and industrial archaeology, notably the old ironworks.

Finally, Donosti, a city blessed with a unique setting and honored by its most international sculptor at the end of the bay.

On the border between autumn and winter, the high routes of the Pyrenees become more untamed and solitary. They anticipate the great silence that precedes the vast white blanket that will cover everything. Traveling alone at an altitude of 2,000 meters during this period connects us with nature in an intense way. When we are hours and miles away from the last village, the environment leaves us helpless in the face of any adversity. But the feeling is complete and pleasant, one of total reconnection with the land we tread on. The silence is interrupted only by the sounds of the animals that pass by and are well aware of the change that is coming.

Galicia is home to one of the most spectacular and demanding routes on the peninsula. Its reputation as a wild and fearsome coastline has earned it the nickname Costa da Morte, referring to the countless shipwrecks concentrated in the area. When Poseidon commands the Atlantic to roar with force and the untamed wind lashes the coast, it is best not to approach Hades.

But when the elements are calm, the sun shines brightly, illuminating the coast, and the horizon reveals its line, there are few landscapes more paradisiacal.

For those privileged days, “El Camino de los Faros” (The Lighthouse Trail) was created, connecting the different beacons along the labyrinthine coastline. A local group created a cycleable version, really only suitable for titans. Bicis en Ruta and raised the bar for cycleability in order to bring our senior groups closer, who have the deep gaze of Ulysses enjoying a well-deserved rest after a thousand battles.

Another exceptional autumn crossing the Asturian coast with a passionate and fun family. Up and down the coves among forests of ferns, chestnut trees, and eucalyptus. On the high hills, cows graze in the meadows at the edge of the cliffs, and the beaches change completely in a matter of hours depending on the high tides. An itinerary where you don't move forward because the stops to contemplate the view are continuous and obligatory.

A spring week in Empordà with a perfect balance between cycling, gastronomy, and culture. Our American friends faced history in the ancient Greek colony of Empúries, tasted some of the best local wines with the invaluable collaboration of Laura , were amazed by the contrasts and spectacular landscapes of Cap de Creus, visited Dalí's works in Figueres and the gastronomic cathedral of , run since its inception by the ingenuity and wisdom of Jaume Subirós, the silent viewpoint of Sant Pere de Rodes and the relaxing paths of the medieval villages route. An intense week that will leave us with pleasant memories.
