Barcelona Cutlure (www.barcelonaculture.com) is the business of Jeff Swartz, an art, design and architecture specialist offering tours and education in Barcelona. For more than 25 years we have been based in Barcelona, where we specialize in visits for tourists and professionals as well as student groups. We are dedicated to providing quality experiences for those looking for something more. Our c

lients range from first-time tourists to those wanting to go deeper. Many of those hiring our services are cruise ship travellers, while others are in Barcelona for congresses and other professional events. We always adjust tours to the client’s specific fascinations, highlighting subjects of particular interest. I am also pleased to offer recommendations and advice well beyond the content of any tour. Jeff Swartz has spent years working with foreign students and museum groups as well. He started touring Barcelona history and culture for Wi******er School of Art, over 20 years ago. Since then he has worked frequently with universities and art schools from England, North America and Scandinavia, for example, as well as for international art and design schools based in Barcelona. A 16 year old artist at Barcelona's MNAC, José García Narezo, with drawings from the 1930s.
Born in Madrid in 1922 and in Catalonia during the Civil War, his drawing book from 1937 contrasts the modern world with the old with suprising clarity. Including images from the Civil War. García Narezo, born a deaf-mute in Madrid, was exiled to Mexico and showed all over the US. He died in 1994.
