It's fiesta time in Valencia! These amazing giant wood & papier-mâché sculptures are amongst around 800 now being placed on the city streets as part of the world-famous 'Las Fallas' fiesta.
Truly mind-blowing artistry, & they are massive - up to 10 stories high!

The sad thing is....... they're all about to go up in flames! 🔥🔥

Every year on the night of March 19th (St. Joseph’s Day - the patron saint of carpenters), all these remarkable statues which have taken months to construct are set alight on the city streets! It's a breath-taking (& ever-so-slightly-crazy) event known as La Cremà (The Burning). Astonishing!
