Days of walking, new landscapes, shared stories, gourmet picnics outdoors, and those little Camino moments that somehow become the best memories.

It was a joy to welcome this group to Spain and accompany them on this experience, one step at a time.

Photo dump from one of our latest Camino Portugués Coastal tours 🌊🥾

Atlantic views, charming coastal towns, peaceful walking days, and that special Camino feeling that slowly builds with every step toward Santiago.

This route follows the Portuguese coast before entering Galicia, blending sea breeze, beautiful landscapes, local culture, and the joy of walking together.

A few snapshots from the Camino… but the feeling is much harder to capture. ✨

Celebrating the Battle of Clavijo

In the year 844 on May 23rd, Santiago is believed to have appeared on a white steed, sword in hand and saved the day for the outnumbered Christian army. This took place near the village of Clavijo, in the region of La Rioja.

However, historians find it extremely unlikely that this battle ever took place, and that the legend probably appeared in the 12th century as political propaganda for the Christian ‘Reconquista’ cause against the Muslim Kingdoms.

The Clavijo Castle can be visited and is located in the village of Clavijo, just south of Logroño.

Insider tip: If you happen to be in Santiago today, the botafumeiro WILL swing.

In 2027, the Camino de Santiago will enter a very special year: the Holy Year of Santiago de Compostela. ✨

For pilgrims and travelers, this adds an extra layer of meaning to the experience of walking into Santiago. The Cathedral, the Holy Door, the Botafumeiro, and the atmosphere in the city all become part of a historic Camino moment.

But what exactly is a Holy Year? Why does it matter? And why is 2027 such a special opportunity to walk the Camino?

We explain it all in our latest blog post:

We might need to create a new Pantone color: Chapter 1 Green.

It is the color of the first steps of the Camino Francés — the bright green of the Pyrenees, Navarra’s fields, quiet trails, and the landscapes that lead from Roncesvalles toward Logroño.

Our Chapter 1: The Beginning Tour starts at the border of Spain in the Pyrenees. On this journey, we come down from Roncesvalles into Hemingway’s Pamplona, stroll through the vineyards of La Rioja, and pass through hilltop villages connected by Roman Roads.

This tour covers the first 89 miles of the Camino Francés over 11 days, with expert guides, luggage transfers, a support vehicle, charming accommodations, local meals, and gourmet picnics when weather permits.

It is a tour full of history, culture, food, vineyards… and, as these photos prove, a very unforgettable shade of green.

Chapter 1 Green.

Yes, Barcelona is unforgettable… but there is so much more to discover in this corner of the Mediterranean coast.

Just a few kilometers north of the city, the Costa Brava reveals a wilder, quieter side of Catalonia: rugged cliffs, hidden coves, medieval villages, seaside trails, local gastronomy, and landscapes that once inspired Salvador Dalí.

Our Camino de Ronda & The Costa Brava Tour is a 10-day guided walking experience along the Mediterranean coast, with beautiful coastal hikes, cultural visits, charming accommodations, local food, luggage transfers, and the support of Fresco Tours’ expert guides.

From Girona and the medieval villages of Empordà to Cadaqués, Cap de Creus, Empúries, and Dalí’s world, this tour is a beautiful way to experience Spain beyond the usual postcards.

Our 2027 departure is now available.
