A little taste of the Camino Francés. 🥖🍇

One of our latest Camino picnics, set up for our Kinder Camino pilgrims as they make their way to Santiago.

Fresh salads, local bread, Spanish cured meats, seasonal fruit, something sweet… and, of course, a beautiful spot to stop, slow down, and enjoy the moment.

Our current Kinder Camino started in Sarria on August 25 and is making its way to Santiago de Compostela, where our pilgrims will arrive on September 4. And along the way, there’s plenty of good food to look forward to. 💛

Because on the Camino with Fresco Tours, lunch isn’t just a break from walking. It’s a moment to slow down, enjoy good food, and take in the experience.

CAMINO PORTUGUÉS COASTAL TOUR BY

The route begins on Portugal’s northern coast, where walking stages link Viana do Castelo, Vila Praia de Âncora, and Caminha. The Atlantic is always nearby, with beaches, coastal villages, and open sea views along the route. In Caminha, a small boat ferries pilgrims across the River Minho to A Guarda in Spain, marking a unique border crossing and opening the way to the ancient Celtic settlement atop Santa Trega Hill.

From Galicia’s coast, the itinerary continues north to Vigo before converging with the Central Portuguese Way. Mussel farms, fishing traditions and coastal cuisine gradually give way to forest paths, river crossings and the historic Camino towns of Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis and Padrón.

It is celebrated whenever July 25, the Feast Day of Saint James the Greater, falls on a Sunday.

Over 132 miles (212 km), you’ll walk through historic towns, changing landscapes, and some of the most memorable stretches of the route — with expert guides, gourmet picnics, cultural visits, and full Fresco Tours support along the way.

In 2027, we’re running this tour just once.
