Once we arrive in Valencia there will be TWO drop off points so you can choose how you would like to spend your day:

🏛️ The famous Arts & Science Museum area
🏰 Torres de Serranos (our usual city centre drop off)

NOTE: If you choose the Arts & Science area but later wish to head into the centre, there are buses available on the main road outside the complex, however you do need to let me and Kerry know so we can count you back on the bus.

🌿 Semana Santa in Calpe – A Beautiful Easter Experience 🌿

If you’re looking for something truly special this Easter, then Semana Santa (Holy Week) in Calpe is not to be missed ✝️✨

Taking place from 29th March to 5th April, this traditional celebration brings the Old Town of Calpe to life with stunning processions, music, candlelight and incredible atmosphere.

⭐ Key Events & Times

🌿 Palm Sunday – 29th March
🕚 Around 11:00 – Blessing of palms followed by a morning procession through the Old Town
A lovely and uplifting way to start the week.

🕯️ Holy Thursday (Silent Procession)
🕘 Around 21:00
One of the most special moments of the week — the Silent Procession, where the streets fall quiet and even the street lights are turned off, leaving only candlelight to guide the way. A truly moving and unforgettable experience.

⚫ Good Friday – Main Procession
🕘 Around 21:00
The most important and dramatic event — the Holy Burial Procession, with all brotherhoods taking part. This is the must-see evening of Semana Santa.

🌅 Easter Sunday – 5th April
🕚 Around 11:00 – The “Encounter Procession”, followed by celebration in the square
A joyful and uplifting end to the week.

📍 All events take place around the Old Town and main church, making it easy to wander, find a good viewing spot, and enjoy a drink or tapas along the way.

🇪🇸 Most services are in Spanish, but you don’t need to understand the language to appreciate the beauty, tradition and emotion of these processions.

🌴 Calpe Travellers Day Trip – Discover Beautiful Elche 🌴

Join Calpe Travellers for a wonderful day exploring the charming and historic city of Elche, famous for its incredible palm groves and relaxed Spanish atmosphere.

Elche is home to the Palmeral of Elche, a stunning landscape of over 200,000 palm trees and one of the largest palm groves in Europe. The town itself is full of character, with lovely plazas, cafés, shops, and plenty of places to enjoy lunch and a drink in the sunshine.

During the day you can enjoy a relaxing walk through some of Elche’s most beautiful green spaces:

🌿 Parque Municipal de Elche – just a short 5 minute walk from the town centre, this lovely shaded park is filled with palm trees, fountains, ponds and peaceful walkways.

🌴 Huerto del Cura – about a 10–15 minute walk from the centre, this famous palm garden is one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Spain, with exotic plants, sculptures and hundreds of impressive palm trees.

It’s the perfect place to spend a relaxed day exploring, enjoying nature, and discovering another beautiful part of Spain.

🥘 El Granaino
A very popular traditional Spanish tapas restaurant known for great local dishes and generous portions. Perfect if you want authentic Spanish food and a lively atmosphere.

🍷 El Galgo
A lovely Mediterranean restaurant with a good reputation for quality food and good value. Great for relaxed lunches with wine and tapas.

🍤 Altamar
A great spot if you like fresh fish and seafood, with Mediterranean dishes and good reviews. 💶 Most restaurants around the Palmeral of Elche area are reasonably priced, often around €15–€20 per person, so there are plenty of affordable places to enjoy lunch.

This vibrant celebration honors the town's patron saint, Santíssim Crist de la Suor, and commemorates the historic events of October 22, 1744, when the town was defended against a Berber pirate attack.
