Aemet warns Almería: days of intense heat and a DANA are coming, and temperatures will reach 40 degrees in these towns

The month of June has already brought, in just over 20 days, both stifling heat and rain and storms to the province of Almería. This unstable weather will continue for the next few days, as warned by the State Meteorological Agency, which indicates that temperatures will reach 40 degrees in various parts of the province over the next few days, and there is also a high probability of storms.

For now, high temperatures will continue to be felt in much of the province of Almería this Sunday, where 100% of the municipalities will exceed 30 degrees, and some, such as Tabernas, Gádor, and Macael, will see highs of 36 degrees Celsius during the central hours of the day.

But the heat won't be exclusive to these municipalities, as in others such as El Ejido, Adra, the capital of Almería, Albox, Huércal-Overa, Macael, and Gérgal, thermometers will reach 35 degrees Celsius.

Storms and Calima: A DANA (High Temperature) Arrives
But next week, it won't just be the heat that will be the focus. Starting Monday, a new DANA (High Temperature) will arrive in the Iberian Peninsula, and its presence will be felt in the province of Almería starting Tuesday. Thus, according to Aemet (National Meteorological Agency), Tuesday will see showers accompanied by thunderstorms in Almería towns such as Laujar de Andarax, Ohanes, Abla, Fiñana, Macael, Velefique, Bacares, Bayarque, and Serón.

And if that weren't enough, there will also be calima (high temperature). Airborne dust is expected to be present across much of the province on both Tuesday and Wednesday, which, coupled with the high probability of precipitation and storms, could leave mud deposits during the last week of June.
