The agave has flowered. Once in its lifetime (between 10-30 years or more), the agave flowers then dies. This flower stalk grew from nothing to about 8m in just a few weeks. Sadly it will have to be taken down before it dies and takes out the phone line!!! Pretty spectacular though. 🌼🌴

From Chite to Denia, the Spanish dream continues!

After selling our beautiful Casa Callistemon in September 2017, I vowed not to buy another house in Spain. For a long time anyway.

Then we went to Denia and fell in love with it. Many internet searches and about 9 months later, we went to view some houses to get more of a feel for what was out there... and sort of came home with one - the first one I’d actually seen on the internet and the last viewing of the day.

It was BROWN... brown 80s tiles, brown furniture, brown kitchen, bathroom...but with heaps of character, loads of gardens to potter in, fruit trees to create endless work and pruning, an amazing pool area that will most likely need a lot of sweeping and hosing, but ocean views to die for.

So, it’s been renovated to within an inch of its life and is no longer brown.
