🍷Can we sum up a year in about 30 seconds?

So we say goodbye to a 2025 full of exciting growth, vibrant wines and memorable moments together. Grateful to to all the partners involved: winemakers, sommeliers, chefs, drivers and, of course, family and friends.

But special thanks to all customers including thirsty wine lovers, international travel agencies and clients that have become friends. 2026 awaits with exciting milestones and I am so ready for them.

Another morning with

From the vineyard to the bottle. We were lucky to visit with Josu one of the vineyards he has started to work with. Old Garnacha vines planted on clay-calcareous soil facing the northwest.

Amatria is not just about wonderful wines, Amatria is about rescuing old vineyards from oblivion.

After checking the vineyards, we went to their small winery in Artajona. There, we find the tanks and barrels.

And the tasting is pure joy. We tasted a whole range of their wines. From their ‘vino de zona’ to their ‘vino de parcela passing through ‘vino de paraje’. We smell citrus notes, flowers, red berries, pepper…

What else can I say. That Josu and Raquel are always the best hosts and make the people feel welcomed and special.

It may look a bit silly but to have the very first bottles at ‘El Calao’ makes me extremely happy.

Renovation permits are ready and it is a matter of time I start with the works. Afterwards… who knows.

Ribera del Duero by

Started our wine trip visiting a young but soulful and promising winery. Seeing the wine-stained hands of Mónica (the winemaker) gives of a hint of how they do things here, by hand.

Beautiful tasting of their wines followed by an absolute delicious lunch where the roasted suckling lamb cooked by Emilio, her husband, has been the highlight.

Two months ago, Rioja’s vineyards carried a heavy silence. Growers fought against mildew and hail, watching nearly half their harvest slip away. The mood was somber, the future uncertain.

But today, the story has turned. 🌿✨
Despite an average 40% loss in production, the grapes that survived tell a different tale—one of resilience and brilliance. The 2025 vintage promises exceptional quality, the kind of wines born not from ease, but from endurance.

In Rioja, this is more than harvest—it’s a reminder that beauty often rises from struggle. The bottles that will emerge from this year’s challenges will carry a soul, a depth, and a brightness that cannot be measured in numbers.

🍷 Sometimes, fewer grapes mean greater stories. And Rioja is ready to tell one of its finest yet.
