First time in Tenerife… and wow, what a find! 🌴☀️
Checked into Hotel Médano and I don’t think I’ve ever stayed this close to the sea – the waves are literally right under the balcony 🌊💙

Morning coffee tastes better with salty air and sunshine, and evenings are all about watching the surfers and feeling that laid-back El Médano vibe. It’s a mix of peace, fun, and a little bit of magic ✨

Already wondering if I really need to go home at all… 😎🍹

We came to beautiful El Médano expecting a quiet holiday… and for most of the year that’s exactly what it is. What we didn’t realise is that we’ve landed right at the start of the Pedrito Festival!

Not complaining – that’s on us for not doing our homework – and honestly, it’s been incredible to see the locals celebrating. Traditional dress, families and friends eating together in the packed town square, live music, bands, bright lights and spotlights… it’s been a real treat to witness the community spirit.

That said, if (or when!) I come back, I’ll probably avoid this particular week. The celebrations go on until about 4.30am and my hotel room has been lit up like a disco every night. Let’s just say I’m about 20 years beyond those “all-nighter” days! 😅✨

🌍✈️ Top Tips for Managing Food Allergies & Intolerances Abroad 🍴

1. Learn the key phrases 🇪🇸🇫🇷🇮🇹
– Write down (or screenshot) how to say “I’m allergic to ___” in the local language. Even better, carry a translation card you can show at restaurants.

2. Pack safe snacks 🍪
– Always keep a stash of allergy-safe snacks in your bag for flights, excursions, or “just in case” moments.

3. Do your research 🔍
– Check menus online before visiting restaurants. Apps like Find Me Gluten Free or local allergy-friendly blogs can be lifesavers.

4. Book smart 🏨
– If possible, choose accommodation with kitchen facilities so you can prepare some of your own meals.

5. Double check labels 🛒
– Food packaging abroad can be confusing! Look for international allergy symbols and don’t be afraid to ask shop staff for help.

6. Tell your host/restaurant staff clearly 🍽️
– Never assume – even with “safe” dishes. Communicate your needs confidently and politely.

7. Bring your meds 💊
– Carry antihistamines, epi-pens, or anything prescribed. Keep them in your hand luggage at all times.

8. Trust your gut ✋
– If you’re not 100% sure it’s safe, don’t risk it. Better to skip one dish than lose a whole day (or more) of your holiday.

Good morning 🙏 how are we all doing today?

Tell me a place you have been starting with B and share something about that place!

People are always looking for inspiration for places to visit....let's inspire one another 🙂

So for B...I'm saying Bratislava. We visited there last year. We found that it was cheaper than the neighbouring cities on the Danube and it was such a beautiful and relaxing city. We chose a hotel on the Danube, which had a swimming pool and spa. The city has so much history, beautiful cafe & restaurant's and within easy reach of both Vienna in one direction and Budapest in the other so it's super easy to incorporate 3 cities in one break.

Did you know that travel has changed over the past few years...Set‑Jetting & Astrocartography are "the thing" to do!

Inspired by books, films, or even astrology, people are visiting destinations like Montana (Yellowstone) or Paris (Emily in Paris), and aligning journeys with their natal charts.

Personally I was inspired to visit Dubrovnik after watching Game of Thrones!

When travelling with teenagers, involve them in the planning process. Let them help choose activities, restaurants, or even a day’s itinerary. When they feel included, they’re more likely to be excited—and less likely to roll their eyes! 😄

🎒 Bonus Tip: Pack snacks, download playlists or shows for downtime, and give them some free time to explore safely. Independence = happy teen = happy trip!

🧳And don't forget the back up charger because someone is going to lose or break one at some point during the trip!!
