Good morning everyone,
I thought long and hard wether i should post this, as i don’t want to be misunderstood, but ultimately, i’ve decided to post this information.
As most of you know i work at the harbour in Caleta, and i welcome lots of new and existing customers everyday.
I attend each person and i’ll happily give information on all our trips and ( as many of you pointed out) also advice on restaurants and other services on the island, including trips i don’t sell( imagine that).
What i have been experiencing lately is a rise in people coming to the harbour, asking me information on everything available to do and then telling me they will be buying it online. Now obviously, every customer is free to buy wherever they want, but please don’t use me as an information desk if you don’t plan on buying with me. I’m a small local business, i can’t compete with big online platforms, but i can tell you this:
*They are not cheaper than me, as i sell the product directly from the company who organises the excursions ( and yes, they advertise in pounds and i advertise in euros, so my prices seem higher)
* they don’t care about the instance where you have a problem with your booking, and you end up at the harbour asking me to help. Unfortunately, if you booked with a third party, sometimes i can’t help you at all!
* they don’t always have the availability or flexibility to open some extra seats on a boat like i do
* they don’t offer you the full info so many times you get to the harbour confused, not knowing exactly what you’ve spent your money on
* they don’t always explain the exact locations you need to go to, so you end up arriving at the harbour late and sometimes missing your boat.
Please bare in mind, if everyone keeps using online platforms to buy, i might not be there next year, as my income is based on what i sell, not the hours i spend at the harbour or the amount of people i speak to☺️
I’m always happy to respond to comments and messages on here, and i’ll continue to serve you all at the harbour, but please support my small business by buying directly from me at the harbour.

My plans were to watch the eclipse from our catamaran , but during my shift at work today i suffered a bad heat stroke episode and had to cancel my plans for the evening.
Luckily, i got to see the solar eclipse through the lens of our camera, though i imagine the view from the sea was much better than my front garden.

My lovely friend and work colleague Valeria lost this beautiful ring around Zanzibar in montecastillo the other day, and she has been desperately looking for it since, with no luck.
If anyone has come across it in Caleta, please contact me, i would love to get it back to her.

Summer’s here and it’s hot, kids get bored at the beach, bring them over to the harbour for a bit of fun!
The inflatables assault course at the harbour is great fun, only €13/ hour per person and it’s open everyday from 10:00-17:00. The best part is that you don’t have to book in advance, just turn up, purchase your wristband and go straight in!
We’ve got life jackets available and included in the price and a lifeguard on duty to make sure everyone is safe!
Minimum age is 6 and minimum height is 110 cm ( and please don’t try to sneak 5 year olds in, we’ll ask for proof of age!)
Last, but not least, i’d like to thank my most loyal waterpark customers, who spend all their holidays with us at the harbour, and yesterday they gifted me with this lovely hand made turtle ❤️. We’ll see you again soon Alexandra & family, we love having you down at the harbour🤗

IMPORTANT UPDATE‼️
As quite a few of my customers have been asking this, i will try to answer.
Protective eye wear: though we have not advertised protective eye wear will be given for this trip, we had the intentions to have them readily available on the boat for the customers who didn’t have any.
However, we have found ourselves in a situation where there are none to be found on the island! We have tried the council, the health centres, pharmacies, shops. Apparently only a small number of glasses have been ordered for the island and they have gone in minutes.
So please bring your own protective eyewear and if you have seen them in any shops around caleta, please let me know so I can buy some for the customers who haven’t got them!

Yesterday i had the most heartwarming interaction with one of my little customers.
I have customers who thank me, or hug me as a thank you after they’ve had a wonderful time on the trips i recommend.
Some other lovely ones have brought me lunch, chocolates, treats from their countries and i deeply appreciate every single one of you!
And yesterday i met little Freddie ❤️ ( if Freddie’s parents are reading this, congratulations guys! You’re doing an amazing job!)
Freddie gave me a heartfelt hug and wanted to take a photo of us together on his little tablet, to have as memory of our interaction at the harbour ❤️
This reminds me everyday, that i’m not here just to advise and sell you excursions, but to help you and your family create lovely memories on your holiday in Fuerteventura! So thank you Freddie, your gift was priceless!

‼️UPDATE‼️
Unfortunately, because of adverse sea conditions, we had to cancel our All inclusive Oby Experience catamaran both yesterday and today.
To be able to accommodate changes to customers bookings and offer more availability to new customers, we have now opened the afternoon slot for Tuesday the 28th from 14:30-18:30.
The afternoon slot is always very popular and gets booked up quickly, so please get in contact with me either via message or at the harbour to book on🎉

Good morning everyone,
This is a post from my personal point of view, as i get asked for recommendations from customers everyday, and i love to support local businesses❤️
This post is about showing appreciation for the local places i personally use time and time again for eating and drinking in caleta, and it’s my personal opinion, so here it goes:
For breakfast i looove Nature By Kuba next to puerta del sol, Kuba’s cooking is fresh and always so accomodating to any special requests i might have! I also love Jay’s english breakfast at the breakfast club at fiesta mexicana, Erika’s foccacia and good quality coffee at Nami ( same square in puerta del sol).
For chinese takeaway i always use Min7 in montecastillo, have been going there for years and their food is always spot on!
For meals out, especially when there’s more of us or for special occasions, our first choice is always Fado Rock Steakhouse, we have been going there for over 10 years and we love it!
For authentic Tapas and great atmosphere, we always have a lovely meal at Tapitapas!
For car rentals we always use Autoreisen and Cicar, as they are usually the cheapest ones and offer great service and no hidden costs.
At the harbour i partner with Oby Group for boat trips, Puerto Castillo for all the water sports at the harbour, with Lineas Romero for our lanzarote trips, with Albakora cat for the dolphin trips and fishing, with Dune buggy fuerteventura for the off road buggy experience, and our amazing guide Natalie who looks after you all on our catamaran trips!
We all aim to offer first time visitors to Caleta and return customers a great time here, so come and have a fun summer in Caleta ❤️
