EXPOSICIÓN RITUMS IVANOVS

MAGDALENA'S LAND
Bajo el título "Semana de la Cultura en Gaucín",el Centro Cultural El Convento acoge un evento muy especial: el estreno de Magdalena’s Land, una película rodada en el propio entorno de Gaucín y escrita y dirigida por el cineasta Uldis Gabriels.

Los estrenos tendrán lugar el 9 de mayo a las 20:30, en versión original con subtítulos en español, y el 10 de mayo a las 20:30, en versión en inglés.

Pero esta propuesta va mucho más allá del cine. A partir del 8 de mayo, el reconocido artista letón y director artístico de la película, Ritums Ivanovs, trabajará en directo ante el público, creando pinturas de gran formato inspiradas en las imágenes de Magdalena’s Land. Los asistentes podrán presenciar el proceso creativo, conocer al artista y descubrir cómo el lenguaje cinematográfico se transforma en obra pictórica.

Además, del 8 al 16 de mayo se podrá visitar una exposición única, en horario de 11:00 a 14:00 horas, con cerca de 200 bocetos realizados durante el rodaje junto con obras basadas en escenas de la película terminada, ofreciendo una mirada íntima al universo visual de la película.

Una oportunidad excepcional para vivir el arte desde dentro: cine, pintura y creación en vivo en un mismo espacio.

MAGDALENA’S LAND
Under the title “Week of Culture in Gaucín”, the Centro Cultural El Convento will host a very special event: the premiere of Magdalena’s Land, a film shot in and around Gaucín, written and directed by filmmaker Uldis Gabriels.

The screenings will take place on May 9 at 20:30, in original version with Spanish subtitles, and on May 10 at 20:30, in the English version.

However, this proposal goes far beyond cinema. Starting on May 8, renowned Latvian artist and the film’s art director Ritums Ivanovs will work live in front of the public, creating large-format paintings inspired by the imagery of Magdalena’s Land. Visitors will be able to watch the creative process, meet the artist, and discover how cinematic language is transformed into pictorial art.

In addition, from May 8 to May 16, a unique exhibition will be open daily from 11:00 to 14:00, featuring nearly 200 sketches made during the filming, along with artworks inspired by scenes from the finished movie. This exhibition offers an intimate look into the visual universe of the film.

ARTGAUCIN ESTUDIOS ABIERTOS 2026
Esta edición de Art Gaucin transforma una vez más las calles de Gaucín en un vibrante centro creativo, reuniendo a 20 artistas de diversas disciplinas en 16 estudios abiertos al público. Este año, se suman las nuevas perspectivas de Adrian Barclay y Belén Montero, junto con los artistas invitados Roderic Stokes y José María Díez.

Durante dos fines de semana consecutivos, de 11:00 a 19:00, los visitantes tendrán la oportunidad de entrar en los estudios, conocer a los artistas en persona y disfrutar de sus obras de cerca.

Como cada año, este evento también incluye una exposición colectiva en el Centro Cultural El Convento, organizada en colaboración con el Ayuntamiento de Gaucín.

Para enriquecer aún más la visita, no te pierdas la Galería Shapó Olé, que completa una experiencia artística verdaderamente única.

The latest edition of Art Gaucin once again transforms the streets of Gaucín into a vibrant creative hub, bringing together 20 artists from a wide range of disciplines across 16 studios open to the public.

La Asociación de Arte y Artistas de la Serranía de Ronda, RONDARTE, en colaboración con el Ayuntamiento de Gaucín, presenta la tercera edición de su exposición colectiva en Gaucín.

Este evento, que refleja talento, pasión y un profundo amor por el arte, ya forma parte del calendario cultural de Gaucín. Reúne a 20 artistas, profesionales y aficionados, de Ronda y alrededores, que muestran su obra en diversas disciplinas como pintura, escultura y fotografía.

Únete a nosotros para apoyar a estos artistas, descubrir nuevas perspectivas y disfrutar de esta experiencia.

La exposición está abierta de jueves a domingo, de 11:00 a 14:00 y de 17:00 a 20:00h. hasta el 2 de mayo.

The Association for Art and Artists of the Serranía de Ronda, RONDARTE, in collaboration with the Gaucín Town Hall, proudly presents the third edition of its group exhibition in Gaucín.

This event, which reflects talent, passion, and a deep love for art, has already become part of the town’s cultural calendar. It brings together 20 artists,both professionals and amateurs,
from Ronda and the surrounding area, showcasing their work across a range of disciplines including painting, sculpture, and photography.

Join us to support these artists, discover new perspectives, and enjoy an enriching experience for the senses.

The exhibition is open from Thursday to Sunday, from 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, and will remain open until May 2nd.

The trail leads past scenic landmarks, olive trees, and peaceful woodland before reaching charming ruins, perfect for a picnic.

Along the way, you’ll experience fresh mountain air, quiet natural surroundings, and breathtaking panoramic views that make this hike truly unforgettable.

SIMULACRO DE INCENDIO FORESTAL
Si se encuentra en Gaucín el próximo 21 de abril, tenga en cuenta que a partir de las 10:00 h, la EMA 112 organizará un simulacro de incendio forestal en el municipio.

Durante toda la mañana, los servicios de emergencia y las fuerzas de seguridad estarán presentes en todo Gaucín, junto con los vehículos y el equipo necesarios para llevar a cabo este operativo.

Se ruega a residentes, visitantes y turistas que tomen nota de la siguiente información importante:
Es posible que reciban mensajes de alerta de emergencia en sus teléfonos móviles con recomendaciones e instrucciones.

Todos los vehículos estacionados en la zona del Portichuelo y en el aparcamiento contiguo al polideportivo Juan Pedro Medina deberán ser retirados antes de las 7:00 h del martes.

Por favor, eviten acceder a la zona del Portichuelo durante el simulacro para no interferir en su desarrollo.

Esta actividad no supone ningún riesgo para la población y no debe causar alarma.

Para cualquier duda, pueden contactar con el Ayuntamiento.

FOREST FIRE SIMULATION EXERCISE
If you are in Gaucín next Tuesday April 21st, please be aware that starting at 10:00 a.m., EMA 112 will organize and coordinate a forest fire simulation exercise in the municipality.

Throughout the morning, emergency services and security forces will be present across Gaucín, along with the necessary vehicles and equipment, to carry out this operation.

Residents, visitors, and tourists should take note of the following important information:
You may receive ES-Alert messages on your mobile phones with recommendations and instructions.

All vehicles parked in the Portichuelo area and in the parking lot next to the “Juan Pedro Medina” sports hall must be removed before 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Please avoid going to the Portichuelo area during the exercise to prevent interference with its development.

This activity does not pose any risk to the population and should not cause alarm, even if you notice emergency vehicles or hear sounds typical of such situations.

DIA INTERNACIONAL DE LOS MONUMENTOS Y SITIOS

Hoy, 18 de abril, celebramos el Día Internacional de los Monumentos y Sitios, una ocasión especial dedicada al reconocimiento y la protección de nuestro patrimonio cultural.

En nuestro pueblo, los visitantes pueden disfrutar de un fascinante recorrido por la historia explorando sus monumentos más emblemáticos. Desde el histórico Castillo del Águila, cuyos orígenes se remontan a la época romana y que fue fortificado durante el periodo musulmán, hasta la pintoresca Fuente de los Seis Caños, construida en el siglo XVII como fuente vital de agua para el pueblo.

También se puede visitar la Iglesia de San Sebastián, una hermosa iglesia construida en el siglo XVI sobre el emplazamiento de una antigua mezquita, que refleja la transición entre culturas. Cerca de allí, la Ermita del Santo Niño ofrece un lugar de devoción con profundo significado local y siglos de tradición.

Otro punto de interés es el antiguo Convento de las Carmelitas Descalzas, fundado en el siglo XVIII y ahora transformado en el Centro Cultural El Convento, donde los visitantes pueden disfrutar de una amplia gama de exposiciones de arte y eventos culturales durante casi todo el año.

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR MONUMENTS AND SITES

Today, April 18th, we celebrate the International Day for Monuments and Sites, a special occasion dedicated to recognizing and protecting our cultural heritage.

In the charming village of Gaucín, visitors can enjoy a rich journey through history by exploring its most emblematic landmarks. From the historic Castillo del Águila, whose origins date back to Roman times and was later fortified during the Moorish period, to the picturesque Fuente de los Seis Caños, built in the 17th century as a vital water source for the village.

You can also visit the Iglesia de San Sebastián, a beautiful church constructed in the 16th century on the site of a former mosque, reflecting the transition between cultures. Nearby, the Ermita del Santo Niño offers a place of devotion with deep local significance and centuries of tradition.

GAUCÍN MERCADO DE PRIMAVERA
El domingo 26 de abril, podremos disfrutar del mercadillo de primavera, un plan perfecto para pasar el día sin prisas y dejarse llevar por el encanto del pueblo.

Desde las 11:00 hasta las 18:00 horas, el Paseo Ana Toval se transformará en un espacio colorido donde pasear entre puestos llenos de creatividad, saborear buena comida y disfrutar de música en directo.
