Back to La Rioja, and this time, with a very special visit🍷

It is always a pleasure to return to Haro, at the heart of Rioja and one of the great places in Spanish wine culture.

But this time was particularly special. Ramón Bilbao, one of Spain’s leading wineries and an international reference for Spanish wine, opened its doors to us for a private inspection visit and a tasting of some of its finest wines.

A fascinating journey through the winery, its history and its wines — a truly unique experience in one of the great temples of Spanish wine.

Deep inside Mina Rica, in the small village of Pilar de Jaravía, lies the Geode of Pulpí — one of the most extraordinary geological wonders in Andalusia.

🔹 Some of its selenite crystals reach almost 2 metres in length.
🔹 The geode was discovered by chance in 1999 by a group of mineral collectors.
🔹 It is located around 60 metres underground, inside an old mining complex.
🔹 Its crystals are so clear and spectacular that the site is considered the largest visitable geode in the world.
🔹 The mine itself has a fascinating history linked to the extraction of silver, lead and iron.
