Morocco Gravel – Day 1

The first stage from Marrakech to Ouirgane delivered exactly what we came here to find:

quiet gravel roads, traditional Berber villages, wide open landscapes and the constant presence of the Atlas Mountains in the background.

Today’s ride climbed from the south-east side of Tenerife through Vilaflor and the pine forests towards Teide National Park.

As the road gained altitude, Gran Canaria appeared on the horizon. Higher up, the landscape changed completely: volcanic terrain, open roads and the unique atmosphere of Las Cañadas.

After crossing the national park, a long descent brought us back towards the south-west coast.

One ride. Forests, volcanoes, ocean views and some of the best cycling Tenerife has to offer.

Cycling holidays are not only about the riding.

For the next season in Tenerife, we’re working on adding a selection of carefully chosen fincas and accommodations designed especially for small cycling groups — quiet locations, beautiful surroundings and the right balance between comfort, privacy and authentic island atmosphere.
