If you are looking for a peaceful getaway "Los Abuelos" is the perfect place for you. Horcajo Medianero is a small farming village only 30 minutes from the historical city of Salamanca and less than an hour from Avila. The house is set on the edge of the village with views directly to the countryside. There is a large garden and patio where you can relax in peace, have drinks in the sunshine or un

der cover. We have also built a garden shower area for guests to cool off or the kids to play in as the patio becomes extremely hot in the summer months. Although there is no swimming pool there is a large clean public pool not 10 minutes from the house. Families can spend the afternoons and evenings there at little cost. It has a bar and a restaurant is across the road for lunch and evening meals. The house itself has two large bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Each room has a king size bed and a single bed, therefore the house can welcome up to 6 guests. The kitchen/diner is large and open plan newly decorated in a rustic style. Please browse through our photos for a better idea of the house and garden and feel free to contact us if you have any questions relating to the house or rental conditions and prices etc. You can also check out the house via our website www.micasaruralsalamanca.com

You will find that the website is in English and Spanish

A little make-over

Los Abuelos has had a little bit of a make-over this year.

The garden continues to evolve summer after summer with new plants and flowers and the already established plants like our Hortensia and the wonderful Adelfa that we inherited with the house, both flowered this year like never before. I’ll talk a bit more about the garden in another post. This time I want to draw everybody's attention to the house.

Upstairs

Starting upstairs, the bedroom has taken on a deeper, more relaxing orange, and we have bought some contrasting uplifting quilts for the beds to give the room a happy mood. The soft comfy two seater settee allows the guest to grab a drink or two from the fridge, steal away upstairs to put your feet up and relax and watch some TV in peace. Open up the window to get some fresh air and pass some “me” time.
